i literally GASPED when you said you wanted a glossier cloudpaint. I AM HERE FOR THIS! Also, your mention about wanting a more 'high end' collection reasonated with me. I realized after watching your v ideo that a lot of my vision of a 'curated collection' was really an aesthetic. While I also wanted a collection that's comprised of products that felt a little seperate. Having a goal for an aestheic collection is kind of useless for me because I'll continue to buy drugstore produtcts, which tend to be less aesthetic. Soooo what's the point?
@laralikesmascara Жыл бұрын
One use and I’m like yep I want it 😅😅 I was shocked too That’s totally true, a curated collection is seen as not just being comprised of products we love and use often but also one that looks nice!! I still haven’t fully figured out my thoughts around this… because I have even shifting to a high end collection but how much of that is arbitrary, because a lot of drugstore products are just as good these days 😫 I don’t know

That's really unfortunate about Clionadh. I bought from them three times circa 2018-2020 and I think shipping was a flat $10 in Ontario and at the time, they had a pick-up option (which I believe changed because of covid). I'm really glad I got everything from them that I wanted because I don't know if I'd be willing to pay much more than I did and it seems prices have since gone up. I've accepted that I should be willing to pay shipping costs, but if I get the sense that a company is making a profit off the shipping, I won't buy from them. It's difficult for me to believe that it really costs them $15+ dollars to ship to you in Toronto :/

My goal is to not have a need to declutter, my collection is ridiculous and although I do love having a bigger collection, I just don't need to have 2400 products. I declutter then buy similar products because I wanna try new things, that's just obnoxious. Watching a few of you young ladies has really helped my mentality, this old lady (47) is learning new things. I asked for a audiobook tablet so I can start finding other things to occupy my buying mentality.

I'd used up a highlighter 😊 Yesterday i'd panned a blush, yeah! I also used up a powder, a lipliner and 2 mascaras. I'm working on 3 lipstcks to use them up until April. My Pat McGrath will be empty at the end of January. Have a nice day 🤗 and greetings from Germany P.s i'm not very creative with my eyeshadows... i only wear bluegrey, or denim blues, grey and black and sometimes neutrals with cool browns and taupe. No other colours...

I've been rereading the HP series, too, no matter how old I get they are still one of my favorite series next to Lord of the Rings. We were able to go to HP world at Universal right before the pandemic hit and it was incredible. We went off season so there weren't as many people and the lines weren't as long. We got our wands, I love my wand! Did I need a wand? No, but did I want a wand? YES! lol

As a Canadian, I just find shopping from indie brands is very expensive. I’ve bought from Adept and JD Glow in the past and paid quite a bit for shipping and then customs and handling, which doubled the price altogether! I ordered from Clionadh once and it was more expensive to ship to NB than to NS…I’m not sure why that was. I think their shipping is expensive because shipping is expensive in Canada and they do an intense job in packaging the products, which I suspect drives up the price. Not an excuse but an explanation.
@laralikesmascara Жыл бұрын
Oof so the price doubling from shipping is not even unique for Clionadh I guess. That’s so strange that between two provinces there would’ve a difference? It just makes it hard for the consumer :/

Honestly, I dont care for supporting small brands if that means I'll have to spend a lot more to do it. For $25, its easy to buy a whole palette or even a couple individual shadows from other indie brands. I might be totally wrong, but I think small brands SOMETIMES feel free to overcharge for their products just because they are small brands (OBVIOUSLY, this doesnt go for every single brand) and also use the "everything is produced ethically" justification without giving any proof of their claims. Another factor that might influence their prices is the hype (wich influences most brands price range). Im not saying all or any of this is true for Clionadh specifically, but Im not saying it isnt either because Ive seen it happen with different "small businesses"
@laralikesmascara Жыл бұрын
Yeah I find it so tricky with small businesses! Cause I’m like, I wanna support you! But then I look at the cost and I’m like 😖

I just feel bad criticizing a small brand! I don’t mind talking badly about massive companies but this felt different 😔 I haven’t no, if it’s not their policy I feel weird being like is this possible for me though?? Maybe their policy will change at some point 🤞
@teacherlovesbeauty Жыл бұрын
@@laralikesmascara I don't think it is bad to ask! You never know what they will say! THey may allow it, but maybe they just don't announce it. Also, if they get requests, maybe they will see the demand for it. 💜

It’s so frustrating, especially if something is coming from for example New York, which is waaaay closer to Toronto than California. I think it must have to do with the challenge of getting it across the border and policies - but idk
