what's more important is doing something you're passionate about and having fun with so if making book hauls videos is not something you're having fun with and it's just eating out your time, then yeah you should cut down on them ! but if you're still loving doing them but wondering if the audience like them or not, then you should just focus on doing what you love, and we'll be here watching and enjoying all the content !

Please don’t stop doing book hauls!!! They’re some of my favorite videos to watch. I love seeing what other people get sent or get for themselves. I’m hoping to read Lonesome Dove as well. I have heard many people that don’t like Westerns say that it’s one of their favorite books of all time. I sampled it a few weeks ago while at the bookstore. I meant to only read a few pages but had read 30 or 35 without even realizing. lol. It’s got very readable prose.

I have read around 40 Terry Pratchett's books of his Discworld series. I recommend you reading first all the books of the guards of the city in order. And do not expect seriousness, blood, exciting combat scenes or anything like that. Discworld is pure philosophy, satire and humanism.

I think what’s great about book hauls, especially with how you approach them, is that they give you the opportunity to recall your liked/recommended reads for your viewers that may not have come up recently on your channel. Case in point for this video would be Helm of Midnight. For books that don’t get as big a push from publishers, or just older ones that didn’t hit the level of cult favorite, just showing up on a video again like this one can inspire sales that would otherwise not be there! This opens up so many opportunities for the right books to get into the right hands when someone might need them! And we get to celebrate all the great artwork and artists with you!

It is literally related to supporting art, authors, and artists. But the purpose of my book haul video is to share and inform whether these books are worth the purchase or not! :)

I really like your book haul videos! (More than reading wrap up or TBR in fact). Others may be interested in more in-depth info, but for me, l like this video series because you showcase a wide variety of books, with a mini review or bite sized description of each one. That's perfect for me - if I'm interested l can look up the book, if not it's good to know about anyway. There's a lot of books that you show here (often sent by authors or publishers) that are different from the usual ones, which l really like. Also I'm always happy for you, to see the books you've received. You work hard putting out great content and I'm glad authors and publishers are sending these to you. It's not like you're buying them all yourself... And you're always so thankful and don't take them for granted, which is important. Anyway, l feel like your book haul videos are like going to someone's house and looking at the bookshelves... I always do that 😅 it's nice to see the books.

Thank you so much, my friend! it depends on the number of books I get. I honestly like sharing info on the books I get. I just feel a bit disheartened hearing a few people get sad from watching book haul videos. It's something I don't feel. I watch many book haul videos or bookmail consisting of books I could not attain for years. Publishers used to ignore me due to where I live. I'm grateful I'm at the stage where I get sent review copies after years of reviewing books and creating content. But yeah, it's a dilemma. It's good to hear many people do enjoy watching my book haul videos, though. If I end up decreasing my book haul videos, it will probably be to one book haul video every two or three months. :)

For me, book haul is more about just hanging out with the book tuber. On one side, it's cool to see you show off all the cool things people send you. On the other hand, if I don't care about the books or if I know about all the books, (which is usually the case) then I'm less interested and grow increasingly less interested in vieiwing. Personally, I'd like you to show us some of your favorite reading spots or cool places in Indonesia. Or heck, just broadcast from a park or something 😅 ?

I agree with what the others are saying - that please don't stop making book haul videos! 🙂 I love to watch ones about special editions, and when youtubers go into detail looking at a book (especially if it's on my wish-list) and looking at things like Font size is important to me & if I want to invest in a book or not. Lonesome Dove is also on my list! 🤠🐎 Ohhh, and I just started my very first read of Malazan and have been hooked line-&-sinker from the start of The Gardens of the Moon!!! I read The Blood Stones last month. It was superb and I really enjoyed it. Tori is a seriously good writer. Please give Lonesome Dove a good try and I think you will be surprised how much you will enjoy it. It truly transcends the western setting and is just an excellent story. You know, I think the most important thing to consider is whether you enjoy doing book hauls. Not gonna lie, book hauls are some of my least favourite videos to watch, but I enjoy seeing you do them if they bring you joy to make. You owe us nothing, put yourself first! In any case, you got some stunningggg editions once again! Can't wait for you to read Tori's book, I really think it will be up your alley. And I am currently reading Empire of the Damned, and while it does have good call backs to spark your memory of book 1, I am personally very glad to have reread Empire of the Vampire first. Hey Leo, it completly depends on you! For me, I absolutely love watching book haul videos...I love to keep up with whats popular and what peaks your interest!! But if you really feel you have too much book (as in you just don't have enough space, because lets be fair there is no such things as too many books ;) ) maybe you could consider doing a give away? Donate some to libraries? or use them for swaps with other people/booktubers? Trade them? I don't know when I unhaul books I try to find a new home for books with people who are going to enjoy them more.

I love your book haul videos! I can’t buy books right now so I live the dream vicariously with you. Especially when you have a signed Terry Pratchet and Lonesome Dove, one of my all time favorites. You must read it! Even if you do t love it, read it, but I think you will love it. Think of it as a fantasy novel in a western setting, like Cowboy Beebop.

As much as I enjoy the book hauls (they seriously are great) I'd love to see more reviews, maybe a few in depth reviews on stuff that you read. Maybe talking about themes or scenes that moved you? Could be spoiler free.

Thank you! I've been thinking of doing lore/world-building videos. They take a lot of time. But it's something I want to try. More reviews actually hurt my channel. Which is sad because I do like book reviews. :D

I used to love book hauls! It used to be a fellow book enthusiast being irresponsible with money like the rest of us... Then booktubers got free books for publicity. Don't get me wrong I'm happy for you all, but now it doesn't feel so personal. Yes, Yes, the $300 dollar premium deluxe first edition, numbered 1 of 100, golden-plated edge-colored wolf Game of Thrones is BEAUTIFUL. Congratulations. I wont have one and if I did i have to spend $300.

Thank you for your comment. Not offended at all, but I strongly recommend you to not watch my future book haul videos. You are in control of what you watch. I like watching people getting books, even those I can't attain. There is no point being envious. We can't have every book we want in this world. And I don't know what you mean about feeling personal, I treasure the fine press edition books I got with all my heart. Whether it's one I buy or received. 😊 I actually don't even know which Game of Thrones edition you're talking about. 😅

Everything is premium, everything is limited edition, and everything is numbered as an excuse to sell it over $200. Seeing as you announced being art director for sun eater and now saying art director for July-December which is 6 months and so far 6 main books in that series. Could that be what we get in the sub box? Though they now also do a sci-fi box 🤔

I sub to a few boxes and The Broken Binding are by far the best, book quality is phenomenal. Currently reading book one of the hanged god trilogy and I am loving it!

I really enjoy your book haul videos but at the same time if its something that for you seems to be losing that fun factor then you shouldnt force yourself to make more videos of them. If you still having fun though then hell yeah i would love to keep seeing more of em.

Guards! Guards! is a great place to start with Discworld, hopefully it works out well for you. I've never come across Helm of Midnight before, it sounds interesting and seems decent, I'll have to check it out sometime. Perdido Street Station is a dense book and can be a little rough to get into, but once it clicks it really stuns you. Will it be your first China Mieville? The Scar actually broke fantasy for me - after I read that book I found most of the other stuff after I tried just couldn't compare, I ended up not reading any fantasy for 4+ years, lol. Amazing book. Iron Council is also excellent. Lots of folks dash on them though because of China's politics - they were his most blatantly socialist stuff at the time. I was just getting my hopes up I'd see no Ruocchio in your video and then you whipped it out literally in the last two minutes, man. 🤣

Thank you! Here's hoping Guards! Guards! will be suitable for me. Helm of Midnight is really good, though. As I said, criminally underrated and under the radar. And yeah, Perdido Street Station will be the first book by China Mieville that I read. If I love that, I'll try The Scar as well. I honestly don't know anything about the author and his politics! I don't even know his face hahaha. And of course there's another Ruocchio book here. Get used to it! :D

That's understandable, Joe! I assume this is H.P. Lovecraft's book? I don't actually know anything beyond that. If it is, Lovecraft's books and inspiration can be found in so many stories.

It was actually a reaction to the casting of the TV adaptation to The Stand. A black actor was casted for the character Nick and he had a big problem with it and said some not so nice things. He was called out and he has since edited that part of video out.
