Maaan, beyond the educational value, this composition is outstanding. Good orchestration and programming makes all the difference for a cleaner and clearer sound

In case you hadn't looked it up by now, Microshift is a replica of Micro Pitch Shifting alogrithms from the Eventide H3000. As with most of the Soundtoys plugins it's very close to the Eventide hardware as the devs used to develop for it. Mode 1 is program #231, Mode 2 is #519, and Mode 3 is technically modelled after the DMX 15-80. Long and short of it, shifts pitch of the input material at a very small interval AND continously adjusts it. Can definitely achieve a chorus effect but it's technically a pitch shifter.

Its certainly a more studio sound than prior but I don’t think it’s thinner. The beef is there just much tighter.

I'm glad you decided not to skip this video. I've been looking forward to your 2024 template vid. While there are many who share their mockups online, yours remain some of the best. For that reason, I'm always interested to know what you've been using. The fact that your template has not changed much speaks volumes regarding which libraries have carved a reliable slot for you. I also want to emphasize it's not just your tools, as I sympathize with your tenacity for growing your inner ear. Great stuff and happy holidays!

Yes this is what I did I got your course and just in the first two lesson. I will give my feedback. This is the best money that anyone that want to learn how to properly orchestrate could spend. no matter how many great library when can have if I don`t know how to put it on practice. Thank you for all the good education that you and Master the Score provide to us. Look very spensive but in reality the value of all this courses is way more than what we pay. I own now 4 courses the only I need is time. Thanks

Hi Mattia, great video! Maybe you could help me out. I’m creating my own templates for film scoring in Pro Tools, and the way I’m doing it is by adding almost all my orchestral virtual instruments, synths, drums-basically every instrument I use for film scoring-into the template, organized in folders. All the tracks are inactive, and I use a shortcut to activate an instrument track whenever I need it. The problem is that my .ptx session file is 300MB, and every auto-backup file is also 300MB, so my backup folder fills up really fast. Is there any way to make the session file smaller? I know there are a lot of tracks (about 500), but I’ve seen Spitfire’s templates, and they seem much lighter than mine. I hope I explained that clearly! If you have any advice, that would be amazing, but no worries if you can’t. Keep up the great work! Thanks.
@MattiaChiappa5 күн бұрын
Yeah, I don’t think there’s an easy solution. My template is about the same size. The only thing I can think of is reducing the number of backups in the your preferences.

I'd love to see a bit under the hood.... your computer spec, how you have your Logic buffers set, Kontakt settings to optimize resources, etc. I have an M1 Studio Max with 64 GB RAM... and I can still tax my CPU easily on bigger arrangements. Would love some real-world insight into resource management for your size template. Cheers...
@MattiaChiappa8 күн бұрын
I have a MacBook M1 Max. The buffer goes up and down. Make sure to purge samples in kontakt, and disable tracks you don’t use, that helps a lot.
@robshrock-shirakbari18628 күн бұрын
@@MattiaChiappa Thx for response. Yes, doing all that, of course, and also running most sample libs from SSD. Curious about other things, like if you're reducing the Max voice count in each Kontakt instance to something more reasonable (they oftentimes default to 1000 voices!); any tweaks to the Kontakt options like KMS on/off, preload buffer size, etc.; Logic processing threads and buffer range settings, etc. Is that something you can elaborate on? I still can choke my machine at times on bigger sessions. I do mix professionally, as well; so my template is pretty elaborate on both the MIDI side and the audio mixing side. I do find that Logic doesn't seem to like too many unnecessary levels of bus routings... I've been trying to simplify how many sub busses there are before hitting the master. But stemming for Atmos is another layer to navigate downstream from the basic MIDI and audio tracks in addition to the various Groups and submix levels. Every little 5% improvement in CPU efficiency helps. Cheers
@MattiaChiappa8 күн бұрын
Mmm no I don’t mess with kontakt, other than purging samples. Same with Logic, all I do is raise the buffer size when start getting clicks and pops. Sounds like you’re doing all you can
