@@chopayrussell9660 @Chopay Russell Iron Maiden will always be treasured by millions long after they finish. The glam metal movement from 81 to 94 will always be discovered by people coming up, the same with thrash, yes it was only a 10 year run in it's prime but it will always have new fans gravitating towards those releases. Black metal and Death metal even more so. Death metals early years from say 87 to 95 is probably the biggest draw for kids coming up, just like people will always find Sabbath/Zeppelin/Rush/ etc. The 70s don't interest me too much personally but every time has it's followers. I don't hear anyone talking about the 60s outside The Beatles.

@@metalmickey yes the 60's were horrible also, a nasty mix of do-wop, jazz, rock-a-billy , blues strung together with the up and coming electronic technology The so called "hair bands" we're derivitives of Van Halen, the photographic evidence, playing style and stage presence is , in my opinion , undeniable As for Death , Thrash and whatnot metal music, has no true staying power compared to the rock music of the mid- late 60's thru the early-mid 80's. It is labeled "classic rock" for a reason. The "Classical composers" from the 17th thru the 19th centuries will always be seen as such. Their music and compositions will always be studied, played and performed as will, my opinion, "classic rock" of mid 1960's thru mid-1980's " Hey Jude" , "Stairway to Heaven" and "Free Bird" ( just examples) have as much staying power What ,Thrash, Death or again whatnot metal music ( group, song or album) can be offered as having such longevity and true wide spread popularity Again all my opinion
