Manual does state to disconnect neutral on battery as vehicle may detect tires moving and automatically engage parking brake. Also your other video shows you using the L button to put into neutral. This is only a temporary neutral and will disengage after 30 minutes and not recommended for towing.

My hybrid maverick does not have the red cord in that cubby. I’m having issue with the truck being totally dead three times. The dealer replace the battery cable and it’s still happening.I’m close to trading it in

Yeah just happened to me to on my Maverick hybrid. No pull cord so the tow truck driver had to drag it out of my garage with skates and dish soap…..not good. Turned out to be the harness issue plaguing these trucks.

If it has a key even if it won't start you should be able to turn the key to on, step on brake, rotate to neutral

It’s all electronic. Don’t think it works that way. Turning the key will just unlock the steering wheel. At least that’s my understanding.

This is factory installed equipment. The truck is made to work this way. But the hybrid doesn’t have this setup anyway. Only the Ecoboost.

Yup, it's definitely not there, I looked with a small mirror and a flashlight. On page 185 of the manual it describes how to use the access cover under the title MANUAL PARK RELEASE -GASOLINE (IF EQUIPPED). I guess my '23 XLT Lux Ecoboost is NOT equipped. There is another process described on page 187, SHIFTING YOUR IMMOBILE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK (P) - GASOLINE. This one kind of/might work, it involves pressing both pedals and shifting to N... But, then you need to try and start it to get it to stay in N. None of these are really what I want to know. I want to be know how to put it in N when everything is dead, or at least without trying to start it? There has to be a way? @@robdisner

Glad to know where it is. Too many variations in the different vehicles. Additionally, if the electric parking brake is set, it has to have battery power and the key to release it.
