I love how relatable you are are as a student. You show that you can still be successful without having to be the most perfect student by reading every chapter word per word & taking rainbow colored notes....Thats really impossible! Ty for the tips!

Thank you so much for your comment. I’m definitely not a perfect student, but I try my best to use the resources that work best for me. I do love to color code but I don’t like too much color in my notes, so it’s a love hate relationship. Thank you for watching and please let me know if you ever have questions or would like to see something on my channel 🙂

MedSurg is only available to us in minimesters so everything is covered within 8wks and can be so overwhelming and stressful because our exams are every Monday of each week, but ATI and practice questions helped me getting an 87 in medsurg.

Hey Josie! Wow I am sorry to hear your Med Surg course is so short. I could not imagine learning that material so quickly. But look at how well you did in that short amount of time 😃 I am glad to hear that ATI was helpful for you.

I know it’s 2024. We had no instruction. We were in groups in all lectures. And if you have a question, instructor will always say. See what your classmates think, then come to her. Not good at all. So almost reading the book and questions, was all we could, no lead way on what’s on exams. Thank you for this information.

You seem like the type of person I would be friends with in nursing school. You are much like me and love to be organized. Throughout nursing school I have been extremely organized. (maybe even a little too much) and classmates often pick at me for it but out of the love of their heart just to mess with me (I think lol.) You know on the Grinch when he says "Looooath entirelyyy"? Well that's exactly how I felt taking OB last term!! Goodluck girl!!

I love this! I always try to surround myself with nursing students who are like me because the study groups always tend to be more productive 😂 Never let anyone make you feel bad because you are organized! This specific way of organization works best for us and I have learned to embrace it! Good luck to you too. Your organization skills are going to make you a successful nurse girl!

Thank you for the tip on things to do to go back to study on for finals. I was trying to find a way to go back and find stuff I needed to go back over for finals and it was really hard to go through so many chapters before finals. I will definitely write down things I wasn't sure about, weak at, or what I need to learn more about before finals come back around.
@KristenWaldorf3 жыл бұрын
Yes of course 🙂 I always try to stress to just look at notes from time to time because when finals come around it’s too much work and can add unnecessary stress. I hope the blank sheet of paper method was helpful too. Someone told me about it and then my friends in my program were using it too. It’s so helpful because like you said it’s very difficult to go back through everything before an exam. Good luck in school and feel free to ask questions!!

Can somebody tell me where to go for Medical Surg Nurse certification, please? Which is the best school?
@KristenWaldorf3 жыл бұрын
Hey! From my understanding there are only three ways to become an RN for medical surgical nursing. You have to enroll in an ADN program or BSN program and there are still a couple certificate programs throughout the US from the hospitals themselves, but this last option is very rare. I hope this helps 🙂

Interesting methods. We have Med-Surg 1 and 2 in the last 2 semesters (so I start that class in the Spring)...our program have us get the textbook and the matching study guide. But I'm not sure if I want to go through a 2600+ page textbook 🤷♀️😫😣
@KristenWaldorf4 жыл бұрын
I personally didn’t read the entire book! Normally the practice questions do a great job on focusing on the material you are supposed to know for the exams. Sometimes I feel like reading wastes time, but if I was in a traditional program where I had more time to focus on each class, I probably would have read the book 😊
@theheartmekanik4 жыл бұрын
@@KristenWaldorf I agree with you on that...time is of the essence for accelerated programs. Question please, is it true that the Med-Surg answers don't come with rationales?
@KristenWaldorf4 жыл бұрын
Aries Empress So my med surg study guide did have a rationale as to why the answer was correct but didn’t really explain why the other answers were incorrect. Not the best rationales I’ve seen, but if I was ever really confused, I just asked my professor!

Hi Kristen! I was looking at the Saunders Comprehensive Review book and were there specific chapters or units you used when practicing questions before your exams? Not sure if you used it for all your exams and/or if their is a MedSurg section in the book. Thanks!!
@KristenWaldorf3 жыл бұрын
kelly rubeo Hi Kelly! The book unfortunately doesn’t have specific sections labeled med surg. I mainly focused on the adult sections for each body system and picked out the parts throughout each section that I was being tested on. I didn’t do all the practice questions in each section either, but I tried to do as many as I could with the material I did review. The book is pretty organized by body system for the adult information and it’s not difficult to find what your looking for. Hopefully that is helpful 😀
