I need to accept that I have depression. I need to accept the fact that things are going to be a bit shit for a bit. I need to accept where I am right now. The more I can accept the present, the more I am able to change it.
Learning that I need to accept things has been the first step in my recovery. Recovery is a journey and it’s different for all of us. The videos in this series are about my recovery and what it’s been like for me. There are many interpretations of recovery but this one works for me, so it might help you.
Don’t forget to tell me how your week has been!
Thank you for taking the time to watch this - I hope to see you next time.
Please subscribe to my channel for more videos about mental illness and leave any questions or comments you may have in the space below.
Take care and I hope you have a safe, peaceful week.

Welcome to my KZbin channel where I’m hoping to educate people on the different types of mental disorders to provide an understanding and learn ways to cope. I also vlog about my own experience of living with mental illness, as well as sharing other aspects of my life. I want to raise awareness of mental health problems and mental illness, so I hope my channel helps you and others.
As with all my videos, I'm trying to explain everything as clearly as possible and provide examples from my life to help you understand. I might not get everything right every time, but I wanted to give it a go, and I hope it will be of benefit to you. This Vlog is from my perspective, but I do appreciate that not everyone will have had the same experience as myself - we are all different after all. I have also tried, where applicable, to reference everything correctly, but we are all human and make mistakes - please stick with me.

Good to hear you're feeling a bit better albeit up and down. Here's hoping this week has more ups than downs😊 Thanks for taking time to say hi. I'm on holiday this week and trying to get back into good eating habits plus improving my fitness. I hope you enjoyed Superman. I've set myself the rather time consuming goal of watching all off the Marvel Universe films and TV series in order. I've managed the first 4 films so far, plenty more to go😃

Hi Simon sounds like you are doing lots of positive things like healthy eating and exercise, best of luck with those as they can be amazing for our mental health. Superman was good but we only managed the first two, but in my opinion they are the best ones. Enjoy the rest of your holiday and take care. Gem x

Hi Gem, sorry I was meant to reply yesterday and I completely forgot, Thank you for them mention in your video it has really made me smile 😄. I had such a difficult week last week... I had a psychotic episode again 😣 and just felt very down and not myself, but I’m feeling a bit more better now and I am getting their 😊 taking it day by day, especially after a psychotic episode Which was not like me at all, it’s strange how mental health can bring out the best and worst in you at times cant it?, I’m so pleased that you’re feeling more brighter, that is really positive!, keep shining your light and all is possible 😄🙌

I'm sorry that you have had a difficult week and an episode of psychosis. Psychosis can be very unsettling so I'm pleased to hear that you are taking it one day at a time. That's good you are feeling a little bit better and I hope this continues for you. Mental illness can definitely bring out the best and worst of us. Thanks for your kind words and keep on fighting my friend. Sending hugs. Gem x

Aah thanks for the great and helpful video ☆Yes, accepting one of the hardest one.Because I compare myself sometimes to others. They seem so perfect in everything...perfect clean house..looking perfect. And the opposition is ..perfection is disgusting for me.Do you also struggel with assessing things?Sorry, talked to much about myself ☆

Don't be sorry about talking about yourself, I want to know. I totally get the comparisons to others, I'm having the same thing staying at my brothers house. Lets both try not to compare oursleves to others because you are wonderful as you are my friend. I often struggle with assessing things in a similar way to you. Massive hugs x
