Honestly, I can't say the gay community is any better as a whole nowadays, even setting aside "size queens" and the people who want to be added to the alphabet soup. I remember first going out when I was 19 and I took things like cliques, infighting, and backstabbing with a grain of salt. The real turn off was the shallowness. The number of people who trudged through work/school/life Monday to Friday, only to get shitfaced and blackout with their legs spread open every single weekend was shocking to witness. Never aspiring to be anything more or to do anything else with their lives. In the end, people can do whatever they want, but I always found it disheartening, as I imagine any fulfillment that lifestyle brings you is transient...

Furries claim that the furry fandom is mostly about liking and creating animal characters, art about them, etc, especially if they stand on two legs and talk, but at the same time, there's still a fairly large, sexual, fetishizing community within their ranks, so... Satch isn't exactly wrong, but like most non-furries, he doesn't know very much about them. Additionally and admittedly, some of us furries like to pretend to be animal characters in playful, silly ways (but also in more serious ways like D&D type stuff for example), and especially the fursuiters, who I never much resonated with myself and have even found to be a tad terrifying because I can hardly stand mascot costumes because of their lifelessness and scary, blank stares. 🤣 We're also often gamers and often LGBT interestingly... ...and on the subject of the more emotional/woke comments Satch gets happening to often be furries, I'm not surprised honestly. lol We are a passionate group, and it seems that many of us are sadly very sensitive too.
