In this video I'm going through my mini Bitcoin USB miner solo mining rig, built using a Mars Lander and 6 additional Gekkoscience Compac F USB miners from Bitcoinmerch.com. I built this rig in order to solo mine Bitcoin, in the hopes of potentially getting lucky and getting that 6.25 BTC block reward. In the video I talk through what this Bitcoin solo mining rig is, how it works and how to set one up yourself. ​@lusciousfrenchies3254 you only get rewards if you join a pool. If you solo mine, you don't get the shared rewards. The benefit of solo is you keep the full reward all to yourself. As of may25 2024, 1800ghz earns about $2.52 monthly. That's $0.08 per day.

With the odds stated earlier of taking 5400 years to hit a block, this really amounts to a very expensive glowing box for your desk. Staking coins or basically any other kind of investment has 10 to 100x better returns

As a geek, I have always loved this idea but I think its much more a novelty than anything else because in reality you will never win. I believe the space and electricity can be used for something more meaningful like supporting a small up and coming coin that could be CPU or GPU mineable.

You can use them for regular pool mining to any Bitcoin mining pool you want and see that they are successfully submitting shares on the pool dashboard. I also have an interview on my channel with someone who successfully did mine a block with these.

Just out of curiosity. You spent way over $1000 for 1.8TH? Why no Antminer S9 with 14TH for $599.99?

Good question! In my mind they serve different purposes. The reason to choose this would be because it looks cool (subjective), is small, quiet and most importantly only uses a tiny bit of electricity. It's true you get a lot more hashrate for your money with the Antminer, but that thing uses A LOT of power, which means it can be very expensive to run it long term. Hope this answer helps. :)

Good question! There is a small sd card in the Mars lander that you can plug into your computer with a usb reader (included with the Mars lander) and it lets you easily change the WiFi
