Watching this was a good reminder. A while ago I started reading from The Minimalists and being minimalist as much as I can has made such difference in my life. Although I must say, I have to remember to practice it more. I think it is like any practice, like yoga or a martial art. ... Thanks for the video!

Thanks for another great minimalist video. I was watching in bed this morning and after the bit about how much easier your house is to manage, I jumped up and started sorting the laundry! Ha ha! I came to your channel from your earlier minimalist videos and have found then really helpful. I also like your approach to 'incorporating' minimalism. There seems to be some people who grasp at the label and judge others to be, or not be, minimalists. Sarah Wilson of I Quit Sugar says to try something and see if it works for you. I find that a gentler and more helpful approach. Good for ourselves and for not judging others. Anyway, thanks for this video. :-)

A more minimalist life is really great for me as well. It gives me more peace of mind. De cluttering is just such a good feeling. I started applying minimalism about one and a half years ago. It has really helped me. The only problem is that it's very very hard to apply this to my home. I don't own a lot of stuff buy my boyfriend does. It's absurd. He saves everything too. The garage is filled with stuff and that's just the garage... It's hard living with someone who does the exact opposite 😬 He even has three pieces of furniture ( old junk I call it haha) from his grand parents home which he got when they passed away over 20 years ago. It's old stuff but he's holding on to them because he's emotionally attached to these things. I respect that but these things are just sitting there collecting dust. I'm just different. For me there is no sentimental value in furniture😄 more like little things or photographs.
@SugarMamma8 жыл бұрын
This would be hard for you, and I would struggle with the same issues if I was in a relationship with a hoarder. But I think you have the potential to lead by example and inspire your partner gently overtime. Also what I found with sentimental pieces that taking a photo of them allowed me to keep the memory of them in my heart without feeling disrespectful to the item....maybe this might help? xCC
@dianeb23498 жыл бұрын
+Sugar Mamma that is something I will keep in mind and I'll try soon. Maybe that's an idea even though I think taking a photograph of something won't be enough. Haha. 😊 thank you Canna. Till the next video. Looking forward to it. Xoxo

+Luiza Spiridon Try switching to a _daily_ intermittent fasting protocol like a 16/8 or 20/4. You'll get more of the fasting benefits since you're doing it daily, and it's much easier to sustainable in the long run.

Anyone out there have any advice about minimalism struggles with your husband/partner? I feel if it was just me and my daughter it would be easier for me to declutter! How do I solve this ? 😖
@simplebliss13818 жыл бұрын
I know it is frustrating when everyone isn't on the same page. To reduce tension, just start working on things which you have control and don't force or touch your husband's stuff without his permission. Give him some time.. Once he sees how organized you are and its benefits on your lifestyle, he will turn around. Patience is key but don't let this situation discourage you from simplifying your life! Hope this helps 😊
@jessmholmes898 жыл бұрын
+Mackenzie Sandberg Word up! I have this problem too! What to me is a calming and productive clean space is full blown OCD to my parter. I wish I could convert him but I don't think he appreciates my attempts haha :) Just have to be patient and compromise to the extent you can. I sympathize though...I feel like having a clean decluttered home is what helps me be a more patient and calm person...so it's a bit of a tricky vicious circle
@therebex238 жыл бұрын
+Mackenzie Sandberg Give them a space for their stuff, somewhere behind a closed door. Allow your husband/partner a room just for them (or in smaller living spaces, a closet or storage furniture) to store their stuff. Perhaps a storage unit in the garage or even rented might apply.
@Tinamar658 жыл бұрын
+Mackenzie Sandberg I thought I had this problem too. But then realised that I was transfering my hesitation to go really clutterfree on to my family. It always starts with yourself and then the others will follow...

As me being a dude i love to cook. But i don't like all that cleaning. So talk about minimalism in the kitchen. Just a suggestion.
@SugarMamma8 жыл бұрын
+Phillip Benoit Tough suggestion because I don't like cooking... but perhaps we could start with cleaning as you go? and use simpler recipes with fewer ingredients... I have just learnt this approach and love it... I can actually taste the food rather than over complicating flavours and each food trying to out do each other. xCC

@therebex238 жыл бұрын
+Viking Finn Many extraordinarily wealthy people also practice minimalism. It's not about budgeting, it's about getting rid of waste - something rich people are more likely to accumulate than less-wealthy people.
