Some people may not like me posting this but I am a little turned off by some of the comments people have been posting since Elise brushed out her dreadlocks. Some people posting are not being sensitive to the fact that some people subscribed to Elise actually have dreadlocks, are about to get them, etc. So saying the loose hair looks better because dreadlocks are "scruffy," "dirty" "unprofessional" is frankly offensive. It's fine to say you don't care for dreadlocks or you like loose hair better. Your taste is your taste! But it's base and archaic to be insulting about it. In terms of unprofessional, I can list many people gainfully employed with dreadlocks including doctors, scientists, teachers, CEO's, a politician, celebrities and our oldest living Nobel Laureate, Toni Morrison. I am a receptionist for a large corporation, I'm married with children, and I have dreadlocks. I was employed WITH the dreadlocks. It's all in how you present yourself. There are also people unemployed that don't have dreadlocks. One can express their tastes, aesthetic, style without stereotyping, being rude, or being insulting. The truth of the matter is, as evidenced by this channel and thousands of other loc'ed/dreadlocked KZbinrs, many people with dreadlocks actually take good care of their dreadlocks. They take time with them and buy high-quality products for them. Dreadlocks does not automatically equal unkempt. That said, I genuinely feel Elise looks beautiful either way and her sister and mother's reaction was priceless.

Paul Mitchell’s skinny serum does amazing things for poofy hair! I mean I understand your hair still in shock but it’s so worth the money. Over here the big bottle which still isn’t really that big but it last forever runs me about $20 in America and its best $20 I’ve ever spent. I have really thick unruly hair and it is just... amazing!

It's going to feel weird for a while without dreads. When I brushed mine out my scalp was sore for days. And then I realized I kept trying to flip my hair out of the way, and realized, duh, I don't have all the volume anymore. Lol. I had to get my hair super trimmed, because I think from all the brushing out and tearing I was doing, I ruined a bunch of my ends. Might be something to consider, getting it trimmed so it's healthier. Just do you girl, you are still Elise, regardless of what your hair is.

The only thing you need to do now is work on the dryness of your hair, it is very dry and broken, the color is so beautiful, I felt so bad while you were brushing out the dread locks. You were so sad , so unsure. My heart went out to you. But remember you look beautiful.

Is your hair naturally curly? It looks like the curls are coming back and the fuzz is getting tamer, your hair is such a beautiful colour, you can really see that now the dreads are gone! Sorry to say but i have a feeling that having the locs gone will help better with the job search 😞

She does look naturally curly. I think after some TLC, moisture, a little less shampooing, her hair will definitely poof and look less crispy. That's the thing about textured hair. Of you brush it it will look crispy even if it's perfectly healthy. I'm a 3a if I take care of my hair but that's a lot of work so I just walk around looking fluffy haired lol
