Mission to Get my Family’s Old Boat Back - Venison Burgers & Transporting One Boat with Two Trailers
In this episode, I tackle the challenge of transporting not one, but two boat trailers on a four-hour drive. With my wife Tori off canoeing the Green River in Utah, my trusty sidekick for this journey is none other than my mom. Together, we set out to trade my current boat for my family's old one, but it's not without its obstacles. Determined to make it work, we devise a plan to fit both trailers onto one load, requiring some serious elbow grease but proving that where there's a will, there's a way.
As we hit the road, we encounter pouring rain, but that doesn't dampen our spirits. With the swap successfully completed, we seize the opportunity to enjoy some quality time outdoors with the kids. Amidst the adventure, my son Hudson challenges both my mom and me to a race, adding a fun twist to our journey. On our way back home, we stumble upon a picturesque spot to pull over, where we get a campfire going and I whip up some mouthwatering venison burgers on the grill. Plus, I share an exciting update on our quest to purchase a remote, off-grid, water-access cabin.

My favorite parts: North almost getting away with a venison burger. Watching Wesley sitting in a chair by himself (I know he sees and senses far more than anyone knows), Watching your Mom enjoying herself with you and the boys, Hudson, well, just being Hudson. The only thing missing in this was Tori. I really enjoy the way you capture moments in time Jim and this was no exception. Whether it's Baffin Island or driving to exchange boats to obtain a family memento, I am always entertained and interested. Keep on doing what it is you do and myself and countless others will continue to watch.

My favourite part was the memories of many Complex Logistical Adventures between our home in Oshawa and our cottage near Bancroft on Steenburg Lake. Boats, tools, doors, lumber, stoves, you name it. Trades, sales, free stuff pick ups. Great memories 😊

What a fun time, a great exchange of boat for more than a bigger boat but a family heirloom not to mention your Mom, "Nana" which my grandmom was our "Nana" as well! I loved my time with my Nana too! Wesley moving with control and Huddy our mini Jim is always a treat and when it comes to outdoor adventures Jim we can only thank you. Good Luck with the cabin "offer" and hopefully they will accept it and know they will SEE their old cabin many times over in the future adventures that the current owner will get which to me would be wonderful... just to know what my cabin meant to someone who also would enjoy it may be worth accepting this offer. Jim can I just say I am very impressed you didn’t drop a few F bombs when you were putting that trailer inside the other boat. Last week I was out working to clean up thorn bushes trying to take over & I yelled M F-er out loud several times. Good thing it was in a valley & the closest neighbor is a mile away. 😂.
