I used to be best friends with a girl in hs who faked having cancer. I had random people running up to me telling me that she has lung cancer or brain cancer. She was telling people she was on oxygen at home and heavy breathing treatments. I looked at them so confused like, "what??? I was just at her place last night, and she didn't have any of this, thats funny." I spent almost everyday with her. She knew that my cousin had died as a kid from brain cancer. She knew my great grandpa had died a year prior from throat cancer, and that was the 3rd time of him having it. And my aunt at the time had breast cancer, along with my uncle having throat cancer. I dropped her IMMEDIATELY. I don't play with that.

My dad had a brain disease that caused blood clots all throughout his brain and required brain surgery to fix. After he went through brain surgery and got a lot of attention, he started faking multiple other illnesses to the point he was diagnosed with Munchausen syndrome (not the same as Munchausen by proxy). He craved attention and would get it by telling people he was terminal. He was 'terminal' for almost a decade and eventually died from suicide. I miss him every single day but I still have a lot of anger toward him. I used to dream about confronting him like this, but it often just makes it worse. People like this need help, but it's damn near impossible to force them to get it.

It’s poor behavior - however I feel like if the behavior started after a brain injury and invasive brain surgery, he might not have been fully at the wheel there. Surgeons might’ve bumped something. I have a sister who is mostly normal but occasionally becomes really preachy and then angry at me, Following a pretty hard slam to the head that she never got an mri or anything for. It’s frustrating but I try to keep that in mind.

Now I’m 22 and I know she’s pathological liar and said her friends I’m sick too. She’s evil woman and till this day she denies everything and still believes she’s sick. my mom is exactly like this, but even worse.. she admitted herself into the hospital the same week she was going to be evicted, hospital found nothing wrong with her but kept her for nearly a week because she wouldn't stop complaining. My child brother and sister had to walk themselves to school because she has no support system as she's alienated everyone. they came home from school to find a lock on the door and had nowhere to go. they were 10 and 11. i hate my mother, and wish i could get her the help she needs, but she'll never admit she has any flaws.

I hate this because this is exactly like my mom. I was her care taker for years, lost my childhood, and my early adulthood caring for her. Taking her to doctors just to have them tell her “nothing is wrong with you” till she finally found a doctor that believed her when she said she has strokes and seizures. It’s so sad, but at least this lady is actively being out there. I had to listen to my mom lay in a bed saying “I’m dieing soon” for 12 years. I had to eventually cut her out of my life. I mentally handle watching my mom slowly ruin her life.

I worked with someone who faked cancer. The way we found out was cuz the new manager that came in had the balls to ask for a doctor's note or to not come back. She didn't come back. But then the manager just simply asked for a doctor's note and she couldn't provide one cuz she was lying. I mean I’ve seen stories of tiktok people making up a story about being a homeless veteran in order to scam money on donation sites , even go featured on the news 🫣. As Ken stated humans can lie about anything sometimes its hard to tell …. But the thing is something like cancer or being a homeless vet, it’s not really ok to ask or not believe them. I mean if someone tells you they have cancer, you just believe them because most of us can’t imagine lying about having cancer. So most of us are not going to question someone going thru that. I have a friend of 10 years that I had to distance myself from for this exact reason. He’s super insecure and has had some issues being accepted by his family for personal reasons, and he’s always been a compulsive liar. I had to cut ties with him when he started claiming he had leukemia to gain popularity in the drag community. My grandmother has barely survived cancer multiple times so it’s personal to me. This friend and i were roommates for a while, so we shared each other’s location, I had to draw the line when he told me he was at the hospital getting a blood transfusion but his location showed him at home. Cancer is not something to lie about, I was willing to support him and help him grow as a person until that moment.

The dental issue that Ken was talking about sounds like a stage 2 or 3 Maxillofacial condition, I had a similar operation. It's basically when your upper or lower jaw does not grow to match the opposite jaw. They take bone from the larger jaw and used it to expand the smaller one so that they line up. I also have the Titanium screws and metal plate in my jaw which is always fun at the dentists. I think the operation is called an Osteotomy.

You don't need to get that fixed if it's small like me, but homies do it anyways because they want that perfect fake smile. >_> Edit: If I did do the surgery, it would of forced my mouth to be more slightly open. because my teeth would be resting directly above my bottom teeth. Like I said before, it's no big deal and alot of people are like this. I swear dental is treated like some secret art in the West =_=

@@rachelcookie321 The technique is called Orthognathic surgery, I'm not a surgeon and I was unconscious at the time, but I think that the way it works is they move one forward and one back, so yes, your whole lower jaw area is disconnected from the rest of the skull, moved forward and then a plate is put in place to hold it there. In my case I had to have my teeth wired together for 6 weeks in order to allow the broken bones to heal, and then I had physio to learn how to use my mouth again afterwards because the muscles had grown weak from non-use.

I’ve had several brain AVMs (Arteriovenous malformations) and after treating them I had epilepsy attacks and migraines however I never had any cancer related ailments in my life. I couldn’t however write and forgot to speak for two months. I had depression since I couldn’t even get the words of my frustration out but I’ve recovered and moved on with seizure medications to take. It’s sad to know there’s people who lie about having fake illnesses.

When my sister and i’s mom passed away (I was 6) my dad tried to keep us in contact with her side of the family, like my grandma and great grandma. They basically chose to ignore it and not be in our lives anymore so we lost ties, and they were horrible to us and our mom. We grew up without them, and then they decided they wanted to reconnect (I think they saw us doing better in life and also just regretted cutting off ties with their grandkids) and so my grandma tried faking cancer to get us to meet with her. We didn’t. (This was like over 10 years after the passing of our mom). A couple of years ago, she ended up ACTUALLY getting cancer and passed away💀the more I hear about her though she was a terrible person and was actually vile, and it’s just funny to me that she tried to fake cancer to get us to pity her and be with her and then it didn’t work and she later ended up actually getting cancer

When I was 13 I lied about having cancer to a few people obviously to get attention, of course it came out I don’t, Very embarrassing. I went to therapy and learnt the psychological reasoning why I lied was simply because I wanted love and attention, and thought I needed to go drastic measures to make people care because I felt unlovable. It’s very crazy thing your brain does , and I’m glad I got help… I was too embarrassed to admit it for years but now I’m older I know it’s okay as long as you take responsibility for your actions , face them, change ,become a better person. Also taught me to be genuine and il get the right love and attention in my life I’m supposed to have. If your going through similar, just go talk to someone, it really does help ❤

She's had so many 'health problems' that never existed and she's scammed so many people for money with it and she's been called out but she lies so much she buys into her own lies. SLE?? my late aunt which i refer her as my mom had it before, first doctor thought she had leukemia, but further research says that she's been diagnosed with SLE, Stay Strong, cuz I know you can pull it through just like how my late aunt did, at the time, she also had two tumors discovered during the MRE/MRI( can't remember the name) scan, one on her lower back and one on her brain, she survived the lower back, but when it comes to the brain, they managed to remove it, but they soon faced problems like there's too much water(plasma) in her brain so they had to flood it out. Soon, after constant fighting for atleast 2 months in the hospital, she finally Rest Peacefully. It was a sad day for me as i was just 12 at the time, we were so close until a point i also called her 'mama', like my own mom. So keep on fighting cuz i know u can too, ur stronger than you ever think you are, sorry for the long essays, it's just so rare for me to hear others saying that they have lupus/SLE, when i hear u mention the part where ur own immune system attacks urself, i got all the memories and flashbacks of my late aunt.
