The mother couldn’t handle 2 kids? For 8 years she was sick with postpartum? This is the world’s worst mother and father. 8 years they neglected their child while spoiling the other. Thank goodness the grandparents were there.

Buddy, you should stop engaging with your parents. You have wonderful grandparents! You love them and they love you! Your mother's apology is empty. She is concerned only about the money! Your brother is also a loser. DO NOT FEEL GUILTY OR SORRY ABOUT THE MONEY! You will care for your grandparents, while your mother would happily dump them into a home. Your mother deserves nothing more from your grandparents. They gave her the same loving upbringing that they gave you.

I find it truly interesting that Marvin never even married his sad excuse of a girlfriend. She is living off child support from her ex, and Marvin seems to be ok with her not working. That's a sad life there. Sadly, OP should've told his mother that she was dead to him and that he would not even be there for her funeral. As for the father, he is just as worthless as the mother. Both don't even deserve to be called parents. OP needs counseling to help him resolve all his past issues. Yes, it's great he's moving on with his life, but he needs some professional guidence to let go and move on easier. As for Marvin, I would've told him that he was nothing but trash and trash always finds trash. Then I would tell him that he could enjoy wasting his life with no goals, no dreams, and no financial inheritence from the grandparents. He deserves nothing and is entitled to nothing but the trash he belongs in.
