“You will disown Jared and kick him out, then you’ll get your apology. If you let him back into your lives, I will retract the apology.” Parents will back off because they can’t do that to their golden child.
@snidecommenter711711 күн бұрын
Trouble is, if they get the apology and retraction, then the parents get the investment, it's a done deal. OTOH, if they try to play a feint kick-out, then OP doesn't do the retraction... "Well, isn't that what family does? Make a promise and then break it? We're family and I have to treat you like family."
@Audiogeek-kf2ez9 күн бұрын
That is the most negative set of parents ever. , I think it is time to go off on his own. Go to school on his own. And abandoned the family. This was a very difficult story.

Did the parents offer to pay the mother's brother back the money, of course not. I would have said NO. Your Uncle is a very wise man.
@suehirsch654511 күн бұрын
OP absolutely did the right thing. Those who screw over fam. will screw their clients/investors/others. The big investor deserved to know the kind of people who were wanting to handle his money. Also, bribery............ EWWWWWWW. Your Dad tried to bribe you and then later- after the party tried to intimidate you by bringing your newly bulked up bro along to a lunch where he decided to try to manipulate you by making a big, loud scene. They deserve NO kindness or thought from you since they never earned your thoughtfullness w/ thoughtful treatment when you were young and vulnerable. No one- not even your uncle- has a right to tell you how to respond to their shenanigans or how to feel about what they're doing to you. No one has a right to tell you to apologize. Continue getting your revenge w/ the restraining order and get fabulous grades and the job of your dreams so that they have to watch you THRIVE from a distance.

If your parents are really remorseful they’d pay your uncle the money he forked out for tuition immediately, even before approaching you.

I'm guessing everyone is forgetting he's only 19, 20. Maturity isn't exactly expected here.
@hritwiksom303212 күн бұрын
You guys are just pushing the maturity age higher and higher when it doesn't need to be done. And in this manner more and more people just keep avoiding accountability. I'd argue people start maturing from the ages of 16, when they are able to factually differentiate what's wrong or right, just because they go down the wrong route once doesn't mean they're immature. When they are actually aware of their actions, know what it'll implicate but still do it anyways.
@phoenix693011 күн бұрын
@@hritwiksom3032 I'm not saying that I wish people were more mature at that age, but unfortunately a lot of people are not. I know some immature 70yr olds
@shellykidvid11 күн бұрын
@@phoenix6930 I have talked to people online and they either think I am nine or 45, so I don't think maturity is based on age. Of course the brain develops as one gets older, but here I am at 13 and people are saying im "old" or something
