I'm an adult . Whenever I go out, I will automatically tell my mom where I go and with who because I respect my mom and the freedom that she gave me. So my mom knows that she can trust me. I think her mom needs to learn how to trust her daughter . If you are too strict with her, she will hesitate to share her true thoughts and feelings. This is not healthy . I am thankful that my parents are not like that. They are strict but not till such extend. To trust and to honour it is what they both need to learn and practiced .

This mother is stressing me out. Its hypocritical for her to go out, drink, and do things she enjoys but not allow her ADULT daughter to do the same. Also how do you want your daughter to get married but won't let her interact with any boys. I understand that the mother had traumatic experiences when she was younger but that doesnt mean she should close her daughter off to the world.
@rjgo52295 жыл бұрын
If I were controlled like that I will flip, especially when it comes to career choices. That part where her mum wants her to become a nurse so that the daughter can take care of her creeped me out. Basically the mum is expressing how the daughter's main priority in this world should be to take care of the mum, selfishness x 1000. What happened to letting children blossom and find their meaning in the world? The daughter's sunny and nice personality is part of the reason why I love watching Hello Counselor though! She is not really resentful but is still fighting back! hahaha I'd rebelled like mad and told my mum she's guaranteed to have no care from me when she's older. Sometimes I just need to look at some golden mentality like from this daughter.

Well, from an Asian perspective, I feel like a lot of Asian parents have their word when it comes to career choices. (I went through this, my friends went through this, and we're all feeling unhappy about this but well...) Some parents just feel like their children have to respect their wishes or have excuses like "You're too young to understand."...
@rjgo52295 жыл бұрын
@@AliceKamiya you're missing the point... this mum right here is up to another level of selfishness: she is not only trying to determine her daughter's career path, but she is doing it out of her selfish intentions so that her daughter will be able to serve her better when she gets old. Most other parents are just doing so under the illusion that they're choosing a stable future for their kids, not because they want their kids to be useful for themselves, haha.

My parents aren't like that... I understand that it's a stereotype that does have it's bases in truth but I feel like it's hurtful to the parents who don't treat their children like that. My parents have always supported me, even if they were a bit hesitant about some extracurriculars they thought would wear me out. But in the end, they're always there for me. So instead of grouping people together, let's just say that this woman is a prime example of how to *not* parent.

Her mom keeps insisting it's ok for her because she's old. But rapist, murderers and thieves don't care about age. Mom looks young so there is no reason why a rapist wouldn't target her. Sometimes I think this show is not the right place for many of these people to solve their problems because they aren't professionals. Some of these people seriously need professional help and not comedians, idols and actors. There should always be a professional on set if that's the case.

I think that when you don't limit your child, they end up being strict to themselves just because. I mean, you have to make them understand that there are some dangers and that they are responsible for themselves. My mom is not strict at all, I always go anywhere I want and I don't have a curfew, but she always make clear that I'm totally responsable of myself. She teached me how to be independent and never regret the choices I make. Sometimes she annoys me with school and stuff, and I really never listen to her, but at the end of the day I end up doing the things I have to do just because I think in me and how can that affect me.

The main problem with the mother seems her childhood. She grew up without her parents, she had to control everything alone at young age..What I'm trying to say is I kinda understand why she is so overprotecting, she had nobody who would protect her and tell her what to do when she was young, because her parents passed away and because of that, she got in several bad experiences which had to be very traumatizing to her - not talking now about the human trafficing or almost raping/killing her, which she spoke about, but something she didn't tell. I mean she wouldn't say that after 10 PM there are usually bad people if something didn't happen to her...She is probably traumatized till today and that's why she is so worried about her daughter and so strict with her, she wants to give her what she didn't have when she was young so partly it's not her fault, but still she took it too far away. She seems to be very selfish.. That argument "I'm old now" is like..bruuuh, that doesn't mean those things you are worried about can not happen to you again.

My mother has never liked drinking and, before I turned 21, she told me that she didn't like the idea of me drinking even when I was old enough. I obviously wanted to go through that rite of passage, but I didn't push further on the subject because I respected how she felt about it. To my surprise, on the day I turned 21, my mom took me to the store, gave me money, and told me to go in and buy a bottle of Brandy. I was shocked. My mom smiled and said she didn't like the idea, but she knew it was something I wanted to do. She also made it clear that drinking wasn't bad as long as it is done in moderation. omg, the girl was so cute, must protect but like legit, my life is just like hers. I honestly lost quite a number of friends because I couldn't come for any gatherings and when we're back in school, I would get so left out that I would drift away from my friends. it was bad enough that I didn't have a phone to communicate with my friends, or i could have at least be updated online and wouldn't be left out in group conversations :(

wow, when I was in my second grade I can go to some convenient store and restaurants near my school, my 3-4th grade I can go to my friend's (just to eat lunch), 5th grade I started going out with my friends and going to their homes or resorts(sometimes when there was events), 6th grade, I can go to my friend's house and go to places often, and now It will be my 1st year of highschool(grade7), I wonder if I can go to the mall with my friends. im grateful to my mom and dad because they trust me so much, that's why I need to study hard to give them the life what they want, I feel bad even if I can see their smiles, because my mom and dad married early because of my sister's birth, my mom had a hard time raising us but she told us that they didn't regret giving birth to us and it's not our fault, so I need to study hard and give them the life they wanted few years ago

My curfew had always been 10-11pm ever since high school ( I'm 15 right now )and if I was a little late, my mom would understand and forgive me. Like the time I went to got7's concert but the subways were a little delayed. I'm the type of daughter that doesn't really listen to my parents sometimes. But I am still able to make my choices. She listens to her mom all the time but she couldn't get to make her own choice even at the age of 20 😤I feel bad

My parents never strict me about dating or having many friends, to make it secure, my parents always told me to invite my boyfriend and my friends to my house. I have boyfriend since elementary school and always meet him in my house with my parents. They give me privacy but also i feel secured because i can experience dating and know much people bcs my parents always let me did what i want I never experienced about having “back street” relationship or having alcohol or delinquent behavior bcs i feel experienced enough in heathy way. Mother in this case must found the solutions together to make her daughter can experienced many things but also feelin secure. Im grateful the daughter has a father who is on her side not her mom about this perspective. That’s why she still know what is wrong and right behavior out there

Having a controlling mother can be tough. She will tell you that can you do whatever you want once you're married but as long as you're not you do as i say. Tsk, like as if there is freedom to do all the things you want to do after you get tied down.
