The first part is where the “alien” was actually the snake that tempted eve. Notice the snake was himself symbolizing he was scared of his own sexuality till he was kissed by it. When he new he was gay he acknowledged it but when he did the crowd that all had his face on it, threw stones at him ( what they used to do back in the day as a death punishment) symbolizing his own mind killing himself from denial of being who he was. When people said he was gonna go to hell for not being straight he was already living it from guilt so he just said he's gonna own being who he is as long as he's happy so thus going down the pole to hell and becoming the “devil”. I’m super late to comment, but I love the video. The imagery doesn’t bother me (I’m an old school metal head) at all, and I think the way he used it to tell his story was very well done. I barely knew who he was before all the controversy over this. (I knew he’d created some kind of viral country/rap crossover hit, which I’d never heard, and that he was gay. That was literally it. I wouldn’t have recognized him if I walked into him on the street.) I heard about this song and video, and checked it out. I’ve listened to Montero every day since it dropped.
