Part of me feels like he should've brought her to the wedding anyway, but stopped for gas or something to discreetly warn Tom over the phone that she was wearing white and ask if they had security around. Would've been fitting if she showed up and took the blue dress off and security hauled her out right afterward before the bride could see while OP waltzed in, pretended he didn't know her, and enjoyed the wedding. Blocked her calls right after as she waited outside or had to uber home, or when she sent a pissed off text, he could just respond with links on proper wedding etiquette and what folks REALLY think about those who wear white at weddings when not supposed to. Would be hell for him when he got home, but on the other hand, it would also be funny to see her throwing a tantrum in the parking lot as other guests walked in scoffing at her white dress and talking loudly about how pathetic she was.

As a Witch, I’m just laughing at the mom for trying to lay a curse on her daughter! Even if she cast it properly, the curse is just going to come back to her three times stronger. That’s the very reason why we don’t actually curse or hex people. Karma’s a real bitch, after all.

I'm not a witch but I have looked into it in the past so I did think the mother bringing out a curse seemed like a bad idea. And to bring something like that down on her own daughter and grandchild that she claims to love is just so evil.
@KHTimeProtecter

Which will make the Three-Fold Law come down even harder on her. OP and her husband going permanent NC and their children not wanting to have anything to do with her is the least of her problems. If she really loved her family, she would have respected them, their wishes, and kept her big nose out of this. OP said that her mother’s been into it for years. She probably thought, “Oh! Magic! This’ll make me powerful/feared/rich!” The same mindset a child just discovering the Craft would have before doing any research. “Love is the Law” and “An it harm none, do what ye will” are our basic tenets. It’s all just surface-level interest that’s going to bite her someday one way or another.

Curse-almost-victim there. One of my "friends" (not a friend anymore, naturally) decided to curse me, believing I was doing something to seduce his crush. I never did that, and exactly like you said, the thing returned to him with revenge. It completely ruined his life (lost his job, his house, pets, friends, family, said crush decided he hated him, and very ironically, I was the only person who tried to console him), to the point his masters actually suggested the only way he could get rid of it was to come clear to me and beg for forgiveness. I forgave him, of course, but asked for distance from now on. He complied and disappeared. Another friend of mine (far wiser and more experienced on witchcraft than the one who did put the curse) theorized that since I was innocent of everything he was accusing me of, the thing had no choice but to return to the caster, unleashing on him everything he desired to unleash on me. I don't practice witchcraft. However, I always try to remember that are things over there we don't understand and even less can control, but somehow, will do the fair thing if asked. It's kind of conforting in a very strange way.

The Three Fold Law isn't some silly rule about having to have three blood sisters to do a spell, it's a statement of consequences. What you give out will come back to you three fold because the people at whom you direct energy will amplify it and send it back. We usually do protection spells and things like cleansing the house physically and energetically, then putting protectopns in place such as salt all around the house, charging wind chimes with positive energy and hanging them up outside next to all the outside doors, placing mirrors in all the windows or cleansed crystals on the windowsills, etc. At the most a mirror spell that surrounds the person or the entire house with energy to reflect the energy back onto whoever is sending it towards us works. If everyone sends positive energy towards you that energy will bounce back to them. If someone is sending you negative energy that will bounce back to them. You don't initiate the negative energy, you just don't let it reach you by bouncing it back to them. The kind of energy they get back is entirely up to them.

People who just demand to be in the delivery room just make me sick. My sister asked me herself if I wanted to be in the delivery room with my second niece and I was so surprised and grateful and I said yes! My mother was extremely controlling my whole life, and I let it continue into adulthood because I still relied on her for advice and some resources while I was in college (I was still on family health insurance and cell phone plan). When my alcoholism almost killed me and I needed a liver transplant, I told her nothing and switched my health insurance when I was placed on disability. She found out, and immediately tried to control my treatment, even though I no longer relied on her and she couldn't force me to do anything, so security just kept kicking her out of the hospitals I was skipping around. Eventually I gave her a detailed update from my partner (I was heavily sedated and extremely confused at all times) and a personal phone conversation once a week in exchange for her leaving me alone. It worked out for me, but she was still very upset that I was 95% dead and she couldn't "protect me."

Usually I walk off before they give an answer. Then again, found out last year two of my worst bullies have actually died. Story 1) They should've burned the hex bundle instead of throwing it away, IMPO; regardless of if they thought it would have any effect or not, it would've shown OP's mother that they aren't going to humour her out-of-line action in what is essentially a witchcraft-tinged temper tantrum. Also, the fact that she **tried to curse her daughter, son-in-law, AND unborn grandchildren** falls into the category of intent to cause harm (fatal or otherwise, depending on how the bundle was made) - another extremely over-the-line action for both her status as a mother and as a "member" of the witchcraft community. So, in conclusion: harassment, breach of privacy, causing stress to a pregnant woman carrying two unborn children (a dangerous situation in and of itself), trespassing, and committing an act with the intent of causing possible fatal harm to her family. I think that would be enough to set a Granny Ban on OP's mother for at least a very long time.

1) It was sweet of how OP let her husband know they were expecting. That intrusive mom does not deserve to be in OP life and know what is happening. Going into her son-in-law's office ... WTH?! Making baseless accusations against OP's husband. Telling everyone after asked to keep this to herself. NO do not tell her anything, do not answer her calls, block her. She has no rights to anything OP does not want her to know. Make sure the doctors and hospital know she is not welcome and is to be told nothing. After update: I'm glad OP got good advice, and that she and DH will be meeting with her to tell her to back off. Not surprised she did not take this well. I'm glad there will be cameras, and locks changed. Wow ... what an evil mom to threaten harm just because she is not being allowed to intrude. I hope OP and DH will go NC. permanently and keep their children away from this horrible parent. 2) WTH is wrong with OP's wife that she would try to pull this crap ... good for OP for not letting his wife do her best to be obnoxious at the wedding. NTA. I hope OP does not have kids with this woman who can be so nasty ... why? She is letting her jealousy run rampant. I think she needs therapy and OP needs to reconsider their relationship if that doesn't help. 3) OP did that girl a favor. Kudos for such absolutely perfect petty revenge. Excellent closure.
