Being the child of an abusive Parent who never acknowledged the abuse,her drinking,boyfriends coming into my room and my mother calling me a Liar and then hitting and fighting me,I get this woman. Currently my mother is 82 and with no apology for not only my childhood but adulthood as well as calling my jobs to get me fired, turning my child against me telling her " your Mammy can't afford this or that for you. " She even told my Father I wanted to sleep with him..but now all of a sudden you want me to see you as a mother who loves me now, really? Fact,everyone suddenly becomes a Saint when close to death. I'm afraid I will never know a Mother's love from my biological mother. I've met strangers who have treated me more kindly than my own family and no longer chasing for that love she freely shows my sister,her favorite and my brother who she apologized for the abuse. My sister never experienced the abuse and could care less. I just want peace. Praying for this woman and all trying to overcome thier traumatic childhood. For real. My 75 year old mother constantly says, “I did the best I can, y’all cannot hold my past against me.” While continuing to try to manipulate us, tell people the worst about us but never what she did wrong, and play my siblings and I against each other. I grew up with people saying I look and act like my mother, because of this I chose not to have kids. That should tell you the type of trauma, I experienced. Today, after years of therapy, Im in a great marriage, successful and my mom is trying to drill in my head that Im taking care of her when she no longer can take care of herself. Out of 13 kids, I know the reason but it’s not happening. I’ve been on my own and taking care of myself since 14, emancipated at 16. I have forgiven and let that pain go but have not forgotten. I love my mother, I understand there is no rule book to parenting but some of the thing my siblings and I went through was heartbreaking. Some of us are so damaged, we will die that way. Im not sorry but outside of making sure she is taking care of, I will not be the one doing it.

This girl is such a sweetheart. You can tell. She's naturally more on the sensitive of things, and her calloused mother took advantage of it. A lot of insufficient mothers do. I strongly suspect this mother is a narcissist in its true sense. She wanted empathy (kidney issue), praised herself for her alleged progress when interactions with Mia, deflected when called out and when that didn’t work she tried to sound reasonable to gain Karamo’s respect. All an act. Her body language said it: eye rolling, having most of her body turned away from her daughter and just being cold and dismissive when she was crying talking about being abandoned. I can easily imagine her being abusive towards her children. There’s something very intimidating and manipulating about her.

it's been almost 5 years since i went no contact with my birth mother. i'm a survivor of narcissistic and physical abuse. my feelings were never expressed, because they never mattered in my household. eventually, children who grow up and become survivors of narcissistic abuse get so tired of pandering to their parent's narratives. they eventually see the real truths in the world, and the way adults are supposed to act. over time, the rhetoric that the child received from their parent is gradually dissolved as a lie. my heart constantly goes out to people like me with similar stories-- especially those whose souls scream inside, "maybe she'll love me if i...". i stopped trying to fill that hole 5 years ago. eventually, you love yourself more and it's worth the cut when the situation is bad enough. realizing that her severe narcissistic personality disorder made her an unfit mother, and that it wasn't my fault, helped me a lot in my healing journey.

An invalidating parent is not good to be around and that parent will never change. Learn to create a new normal that doesn’t include them. Once you experience joy, positivity and peace in your life you won’t feel the need to heal with that parent because you’ve done it on your own. Then, if they come around or you wish to see them, they won’t have the ability to trigger you. Still though, set boundaries and meet seldom.

0:28 So the mom went from saying, ‘I don’t know why my daughter hates me’ and then in the same breath say ‘ I asked my daughter when you gone forgive me’ she is exposing herself. Not even 30s into this emission.

I've never been as emotional watching Karamo as with this episode. I feel the daughter's pain like a grueling slow knife stab. And after all that, she still wants to mend things with her mom. God bless her soul and give her the healing she deserves 🙏🏾

Let this be a lesson for any toxic people out there. Nobody is required to forgive you when you think they should. You caused them pain and hurt. And just because she may forgive you doesn’t make her obligated to continue the relationship

Anybody else clock Karamo checking the husband? I’m sure his intentions were good, but how can you come into the conversation not focusing on your wife when she’s hurting so badly? Don’t forget to be a husband while being a father. And talm bout he love both his mother-in-law and his wife, putting them on the same level. I’m glad Karamo checked him and told the wife/daughter that at least he (Karamo) was there for her right after her husband said that mess.

At first I thought you meant checking as in he's hot😂. The way he said you look nice made me side eye karamo

Sweet girl keep your child away from her That negativity will spill over onto your child I kept my kids away from mine Trust me, it's a way better situation. They don't have nothing to use against you and they don't have anything bad to say about you to your children because if somebody doesn't like you, there is no way in hell they can like your children.

Im binge watching these episodes, one thing I noticed is that the Narcissistic Mother is always smiling while the daughters tell the story. Its so scary, its always the same demonic smile. Today is mother's day & my heart really breaks for these Daughters who didn't have the Mom they deserved to have. ❤❤

Being a mom and grandma and have a baby grandson..., my husband and I gave and gave and gave. We traveled and each child was exposed to the best. My husband is deceased now and I will still give, last year a car. I UNDERSTAND a mom's story. We never did drugs nor drank . I did my best but after every one grew up I may or may not hear from them unless I CALL THEM. I am 80+ and live alone.

My husband would have to square up with me after that one. You see me crying on that stage, and you say a whole lot of NOTHING.

@zoespeaks7404, in my opinion the husband made profound points, for the wives healing. The husband is concerned about his wife, he is encouraging her to choose peace, so that she won't have any regrets when the mother check out on earth. It his opinion and I agree with him. Unfortunately some people don't have a forgiving hearts, they hold on to whatever happened to them. And some people are wired to forgive no matter how bad you did them. I don't the daughter, but its seems she is not even close to forgiveness. I had a friend who went through childhood trauma, and profusely blamed her mother for it. Her mother at some stage, improved her life, took to the daughter to prestigious private schools, tertiary education. She could tolerate her mother then, the minute's she achieved academically and could stand on her own, she remembered everything and started the hate all over again. Years later the mother died, and she went through the worse depression. Now she talks to her mother through prayer and regrets everything. Her two other siblings who went through the same with their mother, chose peace and embrace her for the struggles and appreciated that she took care of them when she could. Have no mental break down. They are fine. Unfortunately our hearts are wired differently.

I never believe a parent when they say “I don’t know why my child doesn’t love me/talk to me/care for me”. YOU KNOW WHY. Mom doesn’t want to have the conversations. She doesn’t want to take accountability for the hurt she caused. She just wants to jump straight to the reconciliation… same reason I don’t talk to my mother 😔 I’m 27. I still want my mom sometimes..and she just doesn’t like me and refuses to care for me.
@SocialWorkDiva8 ай бұрын
If your mother doesnt love you, she could never love your child. Those supervised visits with Grandma need to come to an end. The husband needs to go do his own work regarding his childhood instead of meddling and forcing an unhealthy relationship.
