I love sewing videos because it really shows how much work went into the garment - I probably wouldn't have noticed the bead on the strawberries, the upholstery cord or the double layered icing sleeves if you didn't explain the process !! That dress is magnificent and you really picked the fabric well, that colour really makes it look like a sponge cake 🥺🩷💕🍓🎂

Gosh I don't know if you are old enough to remember the cupcake dolls that would flip up to make a cupcake or the cupcake liner would flip down into their skirt and reveal a doll? but this dress reminds me so much of that. It's so wonderful

I love that you talked about the burnout period that happens after art/fashion school. I feel like everyone has that period of just complete and utter lack of artistic inspiration for yourself, which makes you feel kind of weird because you JUST got your degree for this thing and now you can’t bring yourself to even look in the direction of your tools/craft. So thank you, that meant a lot to my brain lol 🖤

I had to pause the video and have a think how I would sew the the iceing part of the dress😂, I knew it would involve some sort of gathering stitch but folding it and then manually pushing the gathers to get the right look was genius was like ah why didn’t I think of that 😆

I knew even before I seen the finished product that this video is right up my alley from the design part.. one of the main reasons I follow is because of ur amazing style and especially fashion sense and I had to leave a comment to say ur such a GOAT of fashion design! I LOVE THE WAY IT TURNED OUT!!!! The matching cake stand and the hoop skirt is the icing on the cake (pun intended). When you said you had to change some things from the original design (like the strawberry placement) I was worried you'd lose the poofy bow in the back, but I'm so glad you kept it and I love the idea of stuffing it and adding wire to make it 3D! I recently started learning to sew and I really enjoyed watching your process breakdown. I'm of course nowhere near your level but it's so cool to see what's possible and what I can work up to!
