I know you said that Cupcakes couldn’t have been inspired by Party of One, bc Cupcakes came out after season 1… but wasn’t Party of One part of season 1? I feel like 3 months of writing and brainstorming is enough time to come up with Cupcakes in a way that makes it plausible that Cupcakes could have been inspired by Party of One. On another note, I hate to say it, but when I first started watching MLP (which was right when the show came out), I REALLY did not like Pinkie Pie. It took a LONG time- I mean YEARS of my own personal growth (I started watching the show as a kid, and by the time the final season came out, I was an adult, so a lot of personal growth indeed) and Pinkie’s personal growth throughout the show for her to grow on me. Unfortunately, a lot of that dislike for her came from episodes like “A Friend Indeed” and “Griffon the Brush Off” and the very first two episodes of the series where Pinkie Pie was incredibly pushy and showed very little regard for others’ boundaries. I was always surprised to learn how much she was LOVED by a MAJORITY of the fandom. She’s a great character, I love her now, but her pushing herself on Cranky Doodle like that has never sit right with me. 😭
