as someone who recently tried to style a princess rosalina wig, wig styling is SO HARD and i cannot believe you're doing DRILL CURLS !! ur so brave for that tbh! immediately after styling my wig and having it come out bad, i went to a panel at a convention about extreme wig styling (run by cowbuttcrunchies) and went "ohhh okay, i was doing the right things but in the EXACT wrong way, got it." it's wild how much nuance there is to wig styling !! cosplayers and drag queens are on another level fr, i aspire to one day have enough skill to make my wig dreams come true

I am only part way through the video but hi! I’m a wig lady!! Specifically for theater. What I normally do is steam hand held. It takes a long time but it’s sooo worth it. I essentially use a little spray mix of product and do a full roller set and then I take my steam and press it to each curl individually. Again takes a long time but after letting things set and air dry each curl is super nice and defined. Also reccomend wrapping whatever you’re using to form your curl in something (I use little hair paper things but I mean you could likely use a lot of other things) to help protect the form from direct heat and in someway melting on the fibers

Thank you so much for posting cosplay vlogs!! I'm getting back into cosplay after many years of being out of it, and I'm feeling a lot of discouraging feels when I try new methods and materials. It is so important to me to see another person working through the same things and being so positive and bright and encouraging! You are a sunshine for many of us. :)

I'm no expert, but I've had great success using super cheap wigs with a steamer or putting the whole thing in boiling water with the rollers all pinned in place, and had no melting. I did it with a £1 wig and actually got it looking really good! Maybe using a wig that isn't heat resistant would work better for more dramatic curls, as long as you do a test and proceed with caution. I'm a costumer, not a wig stylist, so obviously others will have better advice, but sometimes the "best" products aren't the best for beginners.

Steaming a wig… no glue/no vilcro/no paper products/no products before hand/no heat styling beforehand. Please stream in a bathroom with thick plastic rollers with plastic closer. Set the rollers then steam. I would not use bag with garment streamer. As it gets hotter. Let curls cool in plain air with no products or sprays until completely dry. When completely dry before removing curlers you can add products or sprays but no more steaming. If you want straightening or wavy now or after this heat tool time.

Long time follower here, unfortunately going to have to unfollow. I've unfollowed a lot of creators for a similar reason. You speak about Palestine, which is completely fine, but also like many creators you're spreading false information and negativity and not speaking about the harassment and hate crimes Jewish people are experiencing right now for the actions of Israel's government. I understand as liberals were so easily inclined to speak up about any injustice, but people need to do their research and realize this is a conflict hundreds of years in the making and most people truly don't know what's going on.
