6:08 Same thing happened to me when I was working in the US, but at the beginning of the 3rd year. FICA tax (that no one had warned me about - instant ~10% reduction in my wages)

Awesome educational video. That’s something what most ytubers forgets to show. I love to learn more about the freelance process and expenses that people might expect when moving there. .. keep it up

Moving expenses seem like the biggest hassle. Appreciate all the list of warnings!

I've stayed in a few capsule hotels that really impressed me with their service, amenities, cleanliness and privacy. I would absolutely recommend staying at Fist cabin capsule hotels. A little more pricey but you pretty much get a small room to yourself rather than a coffin sized space.

thanks for sharing! that looks indeed much, much better than the short, run down capsules with CRT-TVs and bad smell that I have been to 😅

From time to time we all make one or two mistakes. It happens.😛 Most important is to learn from them I guess... Njoy'd the vid! Great as usual! Best, Candas PS: A capsule hotel videos sounds like a good idea!

Our South Korean fridge also opens from the left to the right. But the deep freezer on the other side opens the other way around

Oh, how confusing 🙈
@alexandervs33692 жыл бұрын
@@JapaneseJourney No, it’s quite simple: left side deep freeze. Right side: refrigerator 😊

Cheaper to get the tea bags and fill a 2L jug, normally 30-50 bags in one bag, and 1 tea bag per 1L. And you don't need to heat it, just add to cold water. Check the bank of the bag.

Thanks for sharing these 😄 By the way, my fridge’s door is actually switchable, I changed the side it opens to after I moved from my previous place to my current place 😮 Didn’t really realize it can do that in the beginning, but when I did realize I was pleasantly surprised 🤘🥰

Lucky you. I actually went to my mother in law at a later point confirm if it really can't be changed. It can't and that was a pretty pricey fridge.

Confused - aren't all fridge's able to change the door? I have switched the door opening of all of my fridges back and forth for years - LG, Samsungs, Defy all of them allows you to change the doors,

right? and this one was quite expensive as well. i was totally in disbelief.

Even though you got a flight refund, couldnt you just purchase a ticket to korea instead for much cheaper? As long as there is a departing ticket should be fine

Ah... That is amazing (the round trip ticket) :D. I thought the same, cuz I was in a very similar situation 1 month ago, that u had back then, but in my case it was not cheaper ^^ P.s. They don't care if u come back to Germany or other county. That means you could have bought a ticket to Korea for example, but I imagine all the panic u had back then... And the shock of the bad news... Probably I would have done the same xD But anyway it turned out well ^^

You can save 100k to 250k yen (~2000usd) on a lawyer for your permanent residency application by simply doing it yourself. And APA hotel, the owner publicizes books, you'll find them in your room, with VERY questionable content. Just saying...
@JapaneseJourney2 жыл бұрын
+1 for that one. Saved that very money myself as well.

Moving and rent in Japan is a big fat RIP off, been there done that. Apparently your Japanese wife, much like mine, is absolutely no help at all on much of anything, even in Japan on what do or not.

Rent in Japan seems such an extraordinary rip-off. I wonder if you still hope to buy or build your own home in the new future. There seems to be plenty of interest in Japanese accommodation on KZbin. There also seems to be growth in places that offer more than a traditional coffin-style capsule, but less than a regular hotel room. Maybe there is a potential video if you can find a place that is interesting, can cope with foreigners and is in a major city like Tokyo.
@JapaneseJourney2 жыл бұрын
I was contacted by a new capsule hotel in that category half a year or so before corona. Decided to not go because it had already been covered by a variety of other KZbinrs. I'm wondering if they are still around...
