There may have been a coolant spill there there earlier. Coolant tastes sweet AND is fatal when ingested in even small quantities to pets. Moral: Make sure any coolant spills are throughly cleaned up if pets (or toddlers!) are around.

For anyone worried about Peanut licking the floor, the chances of her doing so because their is left over coolant residue is pretty low, there probably wasn't even anything on the floor for her to lick up, not even snack crumbs. Border collies are lickers, they will lick any and everything, mine will lick the floor, walls, me, you, pretty much anything. Dogs tongues are very sensitive, and it actually feels good for dogs to lick things, it's stimulating. It's more likely Peanut was just bored and wanted to lick the closest surface, which was the floor.

Matt - You have to learn the easy way to bleed brakes. Get a container with a lid. Drill a hole for a hose. Then fill the container with some brake fluid. Put a clear hose throu the hole and into the brake fluid. Connect the other end to the brake bleeder on the vehical. Now just start pumping , making sure to top off the resevoir. When you see no bubble the line is bleed. No mess no waste.

For the comments on brake fluid, if I'm not mistaken, all synthetic will still absorb water, but at a slower rate and Dot 4 Synthetic will still damage paint whereas Dot 5 is generally a lot safer for paint. You can use anything pre-dot 5 for a paint thinner, just not always at the same rates.

Hello hello please notice this post... I saw a video out of Russia that had this cool device, which essentially was a 10 to 14 in roller that hydraulically push down between both rear axle wheels on the top locking the wheels together so that they had to roll as a unit.... Essentially making the axles not have any skip or hop in the sand, mud, snow, or whatever... Please check this out I think this is the one thing you're missing on this incredible build

Please! For the sake of safety, tell Jake to take the Nitrile gloves off. I’ve worked on a fab shop and things get hot, and heat and nitrile don’t match (you don’t want that to melt in your skin). There’s better gloves for that like the HyFlex or MaxiFlex gloves, and if you wear them your size, they work. Perfect example is the minute 20:55 where they are installing the crossbar that’s hot. Please please Matt, just get them the gloves 🫣 Besides that, great work you guys. I love the content 👏🏼

Back a lot of years ago, I was turned on to using a hand vacuum pump to pull the fluid from the calipers all the way through the lines, I worked in a brake shop at the time. I just did this job on a friend's C 25 after cutting off the rusted out rear frame section and welding on a good one. Never thought I'd see Matt in a tux!

That's how you do it if you don't have a helper. Most people get confused by seeing bubbles with air leaking past the bleeder nipple threads. I use teflon tape if I can't get enough suction.

@@stoker20 I've also taken a spare bleeder screw and through drilled it in a lathe for direct vacuum to the caliper piston.
