Hey Taylor, I bought a Tough Clip because of your recommendation and have had it since December 2021. Can’t thank you enough for advertising that product. Jamie did an amazing job with the simplistic design. Great quality and very durable. It replaced every other dangler or carabiner that I’ve used in the past. I don’t go anywhere without it.

Wallet - Hanlon Leather Pen - Sharpie Gel or G2. (I lose pens a lot). Multi-Tool - Leatherman Wave or Victorinox Climber Flashlight - Rovyvon A8 Watch - Apple Watch, whatever the newest gen is. Don't have a dedicated knife, but I'm considering adding one. For now the Multi-tools do the work.

I like how you don’t get too bummed out from the negative comments. Glad you’ve highlighted the positives to expensive torches/flashlights. Would love to see a budget flashlight video sometime (if you’ve not done one already). Something around the $£100 mark if possible. Thanks for all these videos, I’ve watched a lot over the past few weeks and really love your channel. Keep the great videos coming! 🤙

The one EDC watch everyone sleeps on or knows nothing about is the Casio Oceanus S100 series. Titanium case and band, sapphire crystal, and the same Casio Tough Movement in most of their dialed-out G-Shock watches but in something that does *not* look like a G-Shock. You could wear this thing to a wedding and then go to the range and dump a few thousand rounds downrange and it won't affect it one bit. Not to mention it sync up with the atomic clock wireless every night as well as can easily jump between time zones in seconds, far faster than any other watch on the market. Lume is incredible on it. And it's solar so no worrying about batteries as well as 100m w/r. And I guarantee it's one of the lightest watches on the market due to it's all-titanium build. And right now it's going for anywhere between $350-$500 depending on where you get it. Backup analog watch is a Manchester Watch Works "Rattler" automatic watch. Titanium case, sapphire crystal, superluminova lume that charges easily and lasts all night, hand-wind or auto, screw-down crown with 100m w/r and uses the venerable NH35 movement with shock resistance. I've hand-calibrated mine to keep within a few seconds of atomic time. Too bad the company doesn't exist anymore and the watch is no longer made, but that NH35 movement means it's easily serviced or repaired at pretty much any watch servicing business in my area.

Fellow invictus enthusiast here. Not sure if you’ve ever handled an Invictus Alpha, but if not you should hunt one down. I think my flashlight philosophy is completely different. It’s the flashlight I wanted cost $300 I’d still buy it. However the one I’ve been edc-ing for 12 years runs about $25 now. When it first came out it was about 85$ it is a on off AAA 25 lumin. Flashlight. The function I like about it is the lens. Pulled back it is extremely even clear light for close to work. And it does OK as a spotlight too when the lens is adjusted. It has a hat clip. I use at least one to two hours every single day that I am working. It might be my most indispensable tool

I’m wondering the same. An example of how the key clip sits when hooked on a pant loop would be helpful for me. I’m considering it for my work keys but not sure how many a guy can fit on one as I have several and want them to reach my pocket from plant loop so they’re not making noise while walking.

I’m loving your videos! But, brother, you and me are from different planets! 😜 I wish I had your budget, though! My key management is a split ring and I made a leather fob. Snaps for belt hanging. Car keys are separate. No key ring blades. My pen is a chubby Cuban I turned on a lathe. Flashlight is a Fenix - 5 white modes. 10-1500 lumens, plus red and green. Too big to wear. Wallet. Old leather job that looks like a brick. Going to make another. Kinda small biker. Wood watches cost me $50/ea. Condor Wendigo for my knife. (Ordered.) replacing my krakatoa. I think the big distinction between you and me is my backpack(s). I have many. My edc is in my bag (sometimes my pockets) as such I lean to bigger and heavier items. No multi tools. Multiple tools. My work pack has laptops, cables, adapters, disks and drives. My play bag has the stuff we both like! It also has a cz-75. I usually don’t wear that at work. I liked your bit about the finer points of flashlights. I agree but not fully. I mean, you have a much deeper understanding of flashlights. I have 7 options and use 3. I use 2 90% of the time. There are watch aficionados who would hate my wooden ones. I like cheap but good stuff. Like condor knives. Wood Forest watches. I also like to make stuff. It’s not great. But it means a lot to me. My whole kit is probably well under $500. I’ll have to price it out. Thanks again for the great videos! Cheers!

Taylor, digging up an older video but what flashlight/headlamp setup do you roll when hiking or camping?
@MichaelR-kl6hk2 жыл бұрын
Personally I like your contant on high end flashlights. I carry a little brass Maratac aaa twist top light about 90% of the time, I don't feel the need for more, but I find those high end options interesting to know about. It's like high end watches, not something I'm looking for but seeing what's out there is cool. Really enjoy the channel.
@FreedomFox12 жыл бұрын
The copper Maratac aaa is my favorite keychain light. With the patina it looks like an antique ship instrument. I also like the Eagtac d3a in titanium, a compact clicky aa. It has an excellent UI and a better clip than the Maratac (I clip it to my shirt for hands-free work). I’ve had reliability issues with a number of lights recently, but these two have never let me down. I also agree, I’d love to hear more about the high end stuff!

Honestly, the little o-ring on the key holder says "bad design" to me. If you have to add an o-ring to keep things from falling off, then the clip is ineffectual in and of itself. Just my opinion. It would be much cleaner without it. But then of course, things could fall off.
@1980JPA2 жыл бұрын
I think that many of us (knife, EDC guys) will spend 80 to 100 bucks on a nice flashlight, but 450 bucks is a bit of a different story. It may be just me but a $100 flashlight feels equal in range to a $200 knife. I feel like a $450 flashlight is equal to the $800 knife to most of us EDC enthusiasts. Maybe only because you can get almost every single Bell and whistle on a flashlight for a hundred bucks. There are plenty of enthusiast flashlights that you could talk about just like knives. You don't have to avoid talking about them, just include more of the range of what's available. No offense but not talking about flashlights because you want to only talk about the $400 ones is a bit of a cop out, 😁. Love the channel, and thanks for all the work that you put into bringing us quality content so regularly

Its a phenomenal multitool and nothing in it's size comes close to it. I love it just about as much as my Leatherman Free P2 and Wave+. It's so compact, but has every tool i basically ever need. I just wish it had magnets to keep it closed like the P2 does, but that's the only gripe i have about it. When it's on my Grip6 belts, it can come "apart" and open. Not the tools though, just the frame/handles. For the price and size, i dare you to find something better 😉👍

The lights are neato, but I don’t think an Emisar D4v2, FWAA, or SP10 Pro can be beaten. Anduril is the best software I’ve used and the more I’ve used it, the less I’ve been interested in other lights. Only other light that gets carried is a RovyVon for my keychain.
