There are a billion different variations on just the transitional Type 99s. You could spend all your life trying to get every variation and still not have them all. I especially love the ones with the "chatter" on the wrist. Btw, most of those "02/45s" were made from sub-caliber training guns made to be attached to battleship and cruiser guns. That's why they lacked serial numbers and dust covers. The covers weren't needed and the serial number was originally on the mount that attached it to the battleship gun. If you look at around the rear sight area and bayonet lug area you will usually see a lot of pitting. That's where the water jacket attached. Yes, they were water cooled bolt action rifles! There were probably less than 200 of those "02/45s" made imho. They have serial or assembly numbers under the stock and most are just 2 digits, with a few being in the low 100s.

My dad literally found a type 44 rusting away in the mountians. It took 2 years but we restored it and got it firing. Have a video on it.

Awesome collection! I've been in pursuit of a 7.62x39 conversion of any type and a Type 44 carbine in 6.5 for a few years now. They're really fascinating and seem like fun shooters!

@@MilsurpWorld Yeah! In fact, I'm pretty sure I found out 7.62x39 Arisakas existed by seeing that video! Good stuff. I think that was back when your channel was still "North Florida Gun Guy" lol. I've been keeping an eye out for one ever since!

@@BangoJay_Officialid say it’s easier to find them mislabeled and snag them that way, often as a Type 38 carbine. I’ve found 5 for sale in 3 years collecting.

I’m considering buying a Japanese katana from World War II. Any Information regarding what was the common issue Katana?

I'd recommend starting with a book like Jim Dawson's sword book before you invest hundreds or thousands of dollars into a blade.

Do you collect type 18, 13 or 22 murata rifles? These are way more advanced than the average collector.

Why so many Japanese rifles?
@MilsurpWorld10 ай бұрын
Is that rhetorical?
@boltforward361110 ай бұрын
Sometimes you just gotta collect them all.. I own like... 7 lee-enfields... why? because 6 isnt enough and I havent bought an 8th one yet. On a more serious note, these rifles are not all identical! Each one offers a different story, a little piece of history. Rifle collecting is like buying individual pages to a book.
