Im not a Charlotte mason homeschool mom, and im not particularly interested in the religious aspects in many curriculum choices. But i am a big believer in exposure to a wide array of things. I really appreciate how well spoken you are. It shows that you read a lot in how you speak, how clearly you transfer your thoughts through the screen. I wish more people spoke this way. It fills my soul to hear people speak clearly and articulately about things they are passionate about. I read so much as a kid. I didnt know how to make friends so books were my friends for years and years. And I'd read and wish people in my real life spoke like the people in my books. My best friend does, and i love that about her. But we didnt meet until high school. I fully believe any child raised by parents who think and speak deeply are blessed. Im newer to homeschooling. This is our 3rd year. I havent really settled into a particular style yet. I like aspects from a lot of different things. But i think its so wonderful when people find what speaks to them and then live that. And i believe your kids are blessed to have you as their mother. The stages of life you mentioned are no joke. We're really just moving in to the stage where hes more independent and i can do things/hobbies for myself again. And he's starting to express interests of his own. Im really looking forward to seeing what this era will look like. 😊

I love the three in the Little Women series! And all 8 in the Anne of Green Gables series. Those are some of my comfort re-reads. Trying to listen to some of Charlotte Mason’s writings, it’s slow going. 😂

A fiction book that i read that i found very inspiring was Laddie:a True Blue Story. Reading about this family, their unity, the way the father cares for the mother, and their hospitality, is so inspiring to me! These Happy Golden Years has long been my favorite Little House books! Especially in the years when I was in those teen years, hoping to meet my Almanzo someday!

I loved the Anne of Green Gables series. The later books in the series show Anne as a mother and her patience and joy as a mom really inspired me. Those books show how the children view her as well and how she respects her children as full persons.

Oh America, I know this wasn’t the point of your video but when you talked about your 9, 7 and five-year-olds playing together nicely and independently it really gave me a lot of hope for the future. My kids are 5, 3 and two right now and it’s hard to imagine a time when they will get along and play independentlywithout tearing the house apart and sounding like the blitz. I am thankful for your video.

It really DOES get easier, especially if you're intentional about setting up good habits in the early years. Of course, there is bickering/arguing/quarreling on a daily basis, but I'd say they're best buddies a vast majority of the time. Oh, and they can 1000% tear a house apart haha, hence the outside time. I'm so glad you found that tidbit encouraging!

I am so glad I clicked on this video! And instant “subscribe” for me. I was homeschooled in a similar way, and now I am the mother of one little boy (only 16 months) and I am so excited and inspired to be the best guide to him I can possibly be. Thank you!

I love your videos! Your approach to mother culture; mine is quite similar. I don’t get to all the variety every day but I try to have some touch point daily that helps me grow as a mother. Plus, the living books I’m reading for homeschool are shaping my soul as much as my children! If you loved Little Women, you might enjoy the next book, Little Men! It is sweet and funny. An excellent winter read.

I adore Little Men!! I am looking forward to reading it to my kids in the next couple of years. Father Baher is an incredible teacher. I love the thought that we may not get the variety every day but still pursuing this ideas each day is so beneficial. Thanks for watching + commenting, Brittney!

Love this so much. You Are What You Love is suuuuch a good read, definitely worth reading and practical while being complex. I am almost crying thinking about reading the last Little House book we have only made it to the beginning of Plum Creek and this is my first time ever reading these. Thank you for sharing. God bless and Happy Epiphany!

Thanks for this wonderful video! It’s a good reminder to nourish ourselves, too as we nourish our children’s. As moms who have a lot on our plate, it’s always a challenge to give ourselves time to do this so this is a great encouragement. With that said, I need to get back into reading again. I have a number of books you’ve shared here and noted those that I haven’t read yet. Right now I’m enjoying the Everyday Watercolor book by Jenna Rainey to learn watercolour painting in 30 days.❤

This is pretty much exactly how I read books through the day! ❤ I also add in auto/biographies… you can learn so much more and get the assumptions and “what I’ve always thought/been told” corrected 📖

Well I just finished one on Benjamin Franklin by Walter Isaacson. A lot of the politics lost me, but everything else was very interesting… Very thick book! It was hard to get through at times, but I challenged myself and finished it! I’ve also read Bonhoffer by Eric Metaxas, excellent! Born again by Charles W Colson, and I am currently reading Oswald Chambers, by David McCasland. I have a very old book (1962) on Saint Augustine that I will probably read next, and it is by Jacques Chabannes

What a beautiful life giving video and topic! I have been thinking about how I bring life into my family, even though I am not currently pregnant or breastfeeding, I wish I was! The more we are connected with The Source of Life, the more we bring life into our families and others. I have realized that I am still giving my six year old life by feeding him these virtue building principles and morals that he will have for the rest of his life. Thank you for sharing your routine and some great books. I have been thinking about joining Common House as I notice I mainly watch your videos and Autumn's because they help me be slow and calm when I approach homemaking and homeschooling. I never feel rushed or not good enough when I listen to either one of you so, thank you for that

"The more we are connected with The Source of Life, the more we bring life into our families and others" - I love that! I love Common House! I don't have or use social media, but sometimes it's helpful to ask questions in a group of similar-minded mothers (homeschool questions, lifestyle questions, discussions that go far beyond just homeschooling!). Thanks for sharing all of your current and recent reads! I read LOTR last year and it was so enjoyable! Reading The Hobbit with my 9-year old now. And yesss, add some Sally Clarkson! You won't regret it! I'm SO glad my videos have been encouraging and not burdensome. Your comment has been so encouraging to me! 💛 Zygote knitters (hoping for zygotes of their own) unite! hahha
