If there isn’t a legendary detective who has a gigantic mustache, I’m going to be very disappointed. Hercule Poirot needs a good reference. They already failed by not having a Bonnie and Clyde partners with set of cards back in Capenna

Ho my lore ! Who is that handsome guy ? My guess about the culprit will be Aurelia. As a red/wite, basically a paladin, she looks like the kind of character who is just waiting for an excuse to destroy the rakdos cult. Launching an assassination (according to one of the story card) against herself to have an excuse to look legitimate at attacking is the kind of thing we could expect from Red. We should not forget that while white i seen as the "good" color, white can become tyrannical. Potentially with the help of the selesnayan character. It's convenient from him to remind everybody that the Dimir guild is still here and well, Black - Red like Rakdos on a color pie level sound like the natural ennemy of a Red- white - green alliance. (On my opinion, House Dimir or Rakdos look too obvious as suspects in a detective like story) About the cards, i hope Amalia Aguirre will have something like "when you reveal a land exploring, create a clue token" representing her mapping the multiverse or something like this. And for Kellan after having him be Boros and then Selesnaya, in think he will be Azorius and in the next set will be Orzhov or full white.

I can only speak as a casual viewer: - I like this video format, even though I did find your channel due to my love of lore. - Have you thought of longer form lore videos? - As for this style, I say keep it up as I do like hearing your thoughts and theories of a coming storyline and would enjoy seeing these types of videos before you delve into the released lore!

I think the guild im most interested in seeing an update on is the golgari. They’re already somewhat marginalized in ravnican society and after being largely converted and led by vraska during MOM I’m intrigued to see where they stand socially this set

Yeah I don't know. I think if someone from the Dimir guild would have killed somebody than even the act itself would have been a mystery. I mean not even a corpse would have been easily found (They can still be involved somehow). And Etrata seems to be helping the detectives, too. Saving their life multiple times. For Rakdos the act missed to much "style". I guess we need to wait and see who was killed and how the killing was done first. Gruul does have motives, too. The set isn't a guild set. I believe they already said that only 7 cards would have the special ravnica city guild frame. Only 6 Guild leaders +1 non-guild leader. We already know that Aurelia and Rakdos will have a card. We saw artwork for Vannifar, too. The non-guild leader with the ravnica city frame will most likely be Niv. Ral Zarek is still a planeswalker and Izzet Guildmaster as far as we know. With the "only 1 Planeswalker per set" guideline he would be automatically out because of Kaya. That leads to 3 other guilds without a guildmaster: I think Gruul and Golgari are the guilds that won't have any guild leader... Leaving one Guild which could be Dimir or Selesnya. I could see both guild leaders missing a card because they just don't make a appearance in the story. For now I think that Lazav should make a appearance just because of the mystery setting. We know that Lavinia took over the Azorius guild. To make it short the guild leader that will have representation as a card (in my opinion) will most likely be: Orzhov, Simic, Boros, Rakdos, Azorius and Dimir.

i def think theres going to be some Dimir shapeshifting plot twist, but i also am curious whether Dimir and Rakdos presence whill be red herrings and Oko might end up having kind of plot twist since his feathers are showing up

I could see them using each guild to interact with clues differently, using that to define the differences of the guilds for this set.

I like this format for talks regarding especulation, theories and opinion. For lore videos i think having an script is best.

I do like this style of video. If you want, you can do more of them. The need to have a planswalker guide for this and every premier set. The lore and the world building are my favorite part of MTG. To be honest, it's the only part of MTG I like. I never got into deck building or never thought about strategy when looking at cards. What if Niv Mizzit was completed. Would he still be the living guild packet? What would happen with the living guild packed?

Can’t wait for a new Vannifar card. She’s my favourite character (other than Rakdos) but her current card is super unfun as a commander. Hopefully this one will be original and fun. I think the simic allegiance between Vannifar and Zegana is one of many red herrings that’ll be in the other plot. They’re up to something but Phyrexian oil is not something Zegana would accept. They’re probably plotting to get their hands on another guild’s property needed to rebuild the simic and will use the chaos to make their move. I think several mysteries and side plots will be unveiled as red herrings in search for the murders - including one for each of the main characters like Krenko etc. My prediction is one murder is actually not connected to the others and that murderer will get away with it and it’ll be revealed to the reader at the end of the story. That’ll probably be related to the dimir or Oko. My prediction is the main murderer is someone within the detective agency themselves.

With everyone discussing whodunnit, I think we should also talk about who's actually getting murdered (or at least getting targeted). Because of how the Izzet league handled the Phyrexian invasion - this is likely why Ral is avoiding the party - the murderer is prob targeting Tomik out of spite. I also think that Teysa might be a likely target with how much she influences Ravnica.

I'm not happy Kaya of all characters kept her spark. After she's caused such an upset in balance, she needs a huge nerf. For a "ghost assassin" she doesn't kill a lot of ghosts. Sure didn't stop her from besting praetors that veterans couldn't, planeswalkers with greater experience, or a freaking god. Probably should've named her Mary Sue 🙄😒 Where's our new Vampire cartographer, by the way?

i know you said you think Lazav is the murder.. but i cant help but think otherwise. Lazav has acted on behalf of ravnica twice now.. he fought against bolas before the invasion and he was apart of the defense against the invasion wasnt he? they positioned him to be Ravnica first and at any cost (like batman) so he might be seen as the murder, but i wouldnt be surprised if it was a red herring.
