I just realized I was going to take a bunch of fall damage so I tried to least maneuver over the steam geyser to slow my speed a bit, but I was surprised to find myself going straight down it and slowing down the perfect amount so that I made it all the way to the bottom and yet didn't take any fall damage.

Speed. You normally can’t fall down a steam vent because it pushes you back up when you walk over the hole, but you can overcome that upward force with enough momentum.

Haha honestly I really wish that I hadn't grappled out of the hole, because the steam geyser would've shot me out on its own and that would've been funnier. But I wasn't expecting to end up inside the geyser like this.

One fun thing you can do is grapple straight down to the bottom of a steam geyser. When you let go, you'll get shot back out.

Basically I was trying to get that rabbit statue (part of the lunar new year event) back to the minehead, and I wasn't really thinking when I grappled off that cliff. Then I realized I was going to fall and take a bunch of fall damage with no way to catch myself because my grappling hook was on cooldown, but I saw this steam vent nearby. Steam vents shoot out a bit of air that can push you upwards, so I figured if I maneuvered towards it, that air could cushion my fall. Somehow I guess I lined myself up perfectly with the steam vent hole, and I had enough momentum that even with the air pushing upwards on me, I still fell all the way to the bottom of the hole. I thought it was crazy how this slowed my speed just the perfect amount so I took no fall damage but also made it to the very bottom of the hole. Then the meme (if you're not familiar with this one) is to show a video clip where something mundane is happening, but then when the music kicks in something crazy and unexpected happens, so I had the music kick in as I started falling down the hole. You can actually use your grappling hook to grapple to the bottom of these steam vents, which is pretty fun because then when you let go, the steam vent shoots you upwards. I wish I hadn't grappled out of the hole in this clip, because if I'd just left it, then the steam would have shot me out on its own, but I was too shocked by what happened to think of this at the time.
