@7:20 I know that feeling well! I've had my Mustang 6 months and can't remember how many times I've said that exact thing. I even nicknamed the car "nightmare" because everything was going wrong...

Matt, in Japan, the installers often had to heat up the exhaust piping with a torch until it becomes red. Then they proceed to bend the piping to their desired angle. This practice is rare in America, but in Japan this is how they do it because they always have custom body kits with so many different styles that always never match a specific exhaust system. You will need to do that with both the muffler section and the reservoir.

great vid Matt. loving the s2k series. I've owned my S for a decade now and the one thing I learned about aftermarket parts is that they never are perfect for each S. but that's the fun part of it all. learning your car and adapting to the changes. I wish you lots of fun on your journey to S2k ownership. Cheers

Honda made only 699 CRs. and this one has only 11k miles, so it is pretty rare.
@MikeFigueira7 жыл бұрын
He really isn't hacking it up. Everything he is doing can be 100% reversed if he decided to someday sell the car or just simply want it 100% oem again. It's all bolt on and I am sure he is saving every oem part that was removed just for that reason. The car could potentially be worth 80-100k someday and he knows that.

Hey obsessed garage, I went with the t1r em spec exhaust and yes it's loud and a lil drony 3-4K but is a deep sound and I get compliments all the time on it. I went supercharged also and has been pretty good over all. Have a toda header but went with the hks charger kit on my cr. Love the vids as the setup is pretty similar to mine.
@ObsessedGarage7 жыл бұрын
I have the Toda on it now. It's also has drone that's annoying me. I may have John play with a resonator more.
@MrPde277 жыл бұрын
From what I've learned, most all aftermarket exhausts drone in the s2k. As long as you keep it out of the 3-4K zone and it sounds good then I would keep it. Still love the fact that a guy with my dream car (gt3) still loves a good Honda when he sees it. Just recently found your channel and will keep watching. Keep it up. Also any questions you might have let me know. I've owned mine since new and was a Honda tech for many years.

did you know if you loosen the 4 bolts holding down the electric power steering, you can lift it enough to clear the belt. no grinding would be necessary.

@squidwardshouse677 жыл бұрын
Yep, but it will restrict power
@sdlausen17 жыл бұрын
For a stock s2k, not really. An exhaust adds little to know power to an s2k. People do it just to add sound. I guess since he's now supercharged, it might make a difference.

i have a J's racing single exhaust on my S2000. the fit was off where it exited the bumper as well. i ended up having it cut and rewelded. it was a little painful but it's fits exactly the way i want it to now and you can't see the welds.

Matt, I know it's not the proper way, but why couldn't the Shop you were using to install the exhaust, modify it using the major components but bending and welding new pipes. Shouldn't be too hard for these guys to do and it should still look good if they have good welding skills.
@ObsessedGarage7 жыл бұрын

It's really interesting how Kraftwerk runs a cogged pulley setup. Typically a non-clutched, cogged drive means the blower pulley and mount takes a beating once you let off the gas, which is why ribbed is so popular. Rotrex also recommends running their pulleys, but I know they're happy with the Kraftwerks kits. Kraftwerk must know something. I'm sure they do.

Very unfortunate about your Toda Exhaust. Are you upgrading your radiator as well? That was probably my best modification after supercharging my s2000, especially in the Florida heat. I went with the Mishimoto 3 row and my heating problems vanished and the car feels much happier. You cant go wrong with either koyo or CSF as well.
