Interested to know what camera bags everyone is using??

Our in-house cinematographer takes the LowePro Tactic 2 on pretty much every shoot because of the amount it will safely hold whilst standing up to all weather including the snow in Iceland. This looks like a good alternative too!

@@formatthitech almost bought a version of that bag years ago for an international shoot, it looked awesome, very solid.

Love the new talking head setup! Have the Peak Design and probably will never switch from it. Question: How long do you usually edit every video? I can imagine the S5ii and EVA-1 taking much longer...

Yeah I've heard they make great bags! The longer camera reviews take forever - there's a lot of testing, 2-3 days of shooting sample footage and then a day or two to get a script in order and recorded - then I usually cut the talking head down and begin to chop as much out as I can as there's usually a lot of waffle 😂 then I work in all the b-roll so it's usually a 3-4 weeks of on and off work outside of my professional client work. For stuff like this I scripted it pretty quickly and then recorded it all as VO and cut it all together in about 1 day maybe a bit more to tweak and tidy it up - I only recorded a few sections as pieces to camera to speed stuff up - as I figured I end up cutting quite a lot of me out. I'm still sorting out my permanent filming setup at my studio so it's not totally streamlined yet - but I have my mic on my desk now which is great for quick VO records or when I need to quickly add or amend VO. This was lit with some small portable lights that will feature in my next review vid - but I'll likely use a larger Aperture light going forwards. To be honest I'm thinking of moving away from smaller gear review vids like this because it doesn't feel like a great use of my time unless it's something I'm really interested in like lenses / cameras - or something that allows me to go out and shoot something pretty... we'll see.

You have a Takumar and have never talked about it?!

Yes one of my favourite vintage lenses - I used it as my main 50mm lens for YEARS! I've got a vid on my vintage lens collection that has been in the works for ages - I just need to get time to finish it off. I actually have a vid coming towards end of month looking at a new (unreleased) anamorphic adapter - and I've been experimenting with my vintage lenses as taking lenses!

@@EdProsser Excited to see the vintage lens video! I'm guessing the new adapter is the GreatJoy 1.5x? I'm very curious to see your tests as I've seen some awful footage from it. But I've also seen some nice footage. So I'm curious to hear your thoughts :) I did a big comparison of my vintage lenses here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jafCl2WooJp4i6s

Blooming eck! that video is amazing - must have been an incredible amount of work - thank you for putting that out. I've been eyeing up a Nikkor 55mm 1.2 and also looking to get a declicked (8 element) Takumar. The one I have is 8 element but the aperture ring is pretty stiff for shooting video work on. The front filter thread is also detached from the lens housing so I need to get it repaired. Yes it is the Great Joy adapter - it's a lot of fun for what it is - and I'm pleased with the sample footage I got from it. Mostly been testing with my Helios (because my Takumar front mount is broken it's not particularly safe to mount). I'm excited to share that video with you all - in a couple of weeks.

If it works it works! I was previously using a small lowepro backpack I got off eBay for £30 almost 10 years ago! But this bag is pure luxury

@@EdProsser the bag I have is actually surprisingly good and can protect and fit a lot in it for the money Will definitely get something like this though when the budget allows it

It's not actually mine I just borrowed it to shoot open gate on the Great Joy anamorphic lenses. Loved the image coming from it though!
