The chief antagonist, Yulian, is played by Aleksey Serebryakov who is a genuine Russian (I hope Dasha appreciates that). He technically does speak English, but his English is like high school German, so he had to learn his English dialog phonetically. I think he did a great job as Hutch's main adversary.

The first time I saw popular Russian actress Darya Charusha (credited in "Nobody" as Dasha Naishuller), who plays Beta, the woman who digs up the redacted background info on Hitch and flees without even getting any payment for doing the research, was in the 2005 Russian/Chinese co-production mini series Based on the WW2 novel "А зори здесь тихие" ("A zori zdes tikhie"/"Dawns Here Are Quiet"}. This was a famous and very popular novel that taught the traditional Russian values of courage and sacrifice for the greater good and got adapted to the movie or TV screen at least three times. I wonder if Dasha ever heard of the novel or movie when she was growing up in Russia. I actual saw a clip of the mini series on KZbin and had to order a DVD all the way from Kazakhstan to see the whole series.

If there was a slang word meaning the same as общак in my language, and I was watching the movie with subtitles (or the criminals were speaking my language) I'd have no idea what it meant before it got explained in the movie. And the fact that you can place the slang in a given decade is even more impressive to me. And I am a linguist.. 😀🧡👍

Regarding guns. If improperly stored, if the people who have access to the gun are not trained and responsible, having a gun in the house can be a dangerous situation. But there are many homes in America that have multiple guns, and none of the guns have shot anyone.

according to the CDC there are an average of 27,000 injuries caused by unintentional firearm discharges every year in america, and an average of 500 deaths. also, usually about half of the victims of those 500 unintentional deaths per year are children.

@CarlHungus and what about my statement disputes those facts? Banning guns will never make us safer. Education, familiarization, and accountability will. As to registration, those in power have a benefit from allowing us to have vehicles. They need us to keep using fuel, living far from where we work and aspiring to a better vehicle. So, registration of vehicles does not naturally lead to confiscating. There are multiple scenarios one can imagine, and that history has shown can and have led oppressive regimes to confiscate firearms from their citizens.
