Kanami's name (歌波) translates very appropriately as "song wave". 歌=song, normally pronounced "uta", can be pronounced as "ka". 波=wave pronounced "nami", like in tsunami. And just like a tsunami, she washes you away.

Love your reactions to Band-Maid. There is a part near the beginning, roughly around 50 seconds, that I love. There are 3 separate elements happening. The drums and rhythm guitar are in sync, the bass is doing a fast walking bass line and the lead guitar is playing a different element over top of all that. It's freaking awesome. The other thing I love are the sections that go into an odd meter. I'm like you, I'm infected but frankly, I don't want a cure! 😆

The female shredder was 15 when it was recorded!!! She is now 16 as is the bassist with his older brother the drummer who is 19!! TEENAGERS who sound and play better that 90% of the stuff on YT now!!The strings are still in high school and can't yet drive!!! I swear this girl has the Hendrix/Santana attitude and is just wicked. They blend several Metal genres, Hard Rock and Jazz. All instrumentation no vocals at all. Listen to them and see the next great axe shredder develop before your eyes and ears!!!

The lighting and sound at ZEPP-Tokyo and all ZEPP venues are top-notch as evidenced by these great proshot live videos that Band-Maid has produced there. ZEPP-Tokyo is celebrating their 20th year in business and they have used the years to get the lights, cameras and sound dialed in. Some good pictures of the hall and their JBL arrays can be found on their fakebook page. Did you cut a few inches off of your hair? I always wanted floppy, blonde Hansen hair like yours, but it wasn't meant to be. You would look natural on a Southern California beach holding a surfboard. :-)
