Honestly this was a lot more interesting than the bigger nations. Enjoyed the strategizing and using less commonly used elements (cav as a small nation? forts??) to your advantage.

Ardabil feels like it got easier after Timurids were updated, especially compared to when they were first updated.

It is. I played it all the time pre ajam event for the timmys and pre the ottos intervening there and that start was way harder. Still fun as hell but the difficulty has declined significantly. In the old version, one wrong move and your screwed

Ardabil is a fun run, my issue with is that it leads to zero permanent modifiers and the worst of the exclusive missions, the Legacy of the Safavid governemnt reform is weak as f especially as Zoroastrian so that doesn't make me want to continue the run beyond the formation of persia.

maybe you should not go zoroastrian because that wasnt how it panned out historically. legacy of SAFAVID is supposed to work with shia muslim states :)) its a very strong reform!

Thing is, let's say you want to do Shia Persia, you can do that as Timur which is kinda cheating, but you will get +20% CCR and other geat modifiers, while Ardabil gets only this ... and it's not bad but not as good.

@@PH_777 why stop there? start as oirat for more modifiers? yknow some people like to do harder starts or lore based plays. i know its not a sweaty answer but its a sandbox game. safavid reform gives a lot of CL from clergy everytime you sieze and more manpower from holy war button i think. its great for shia playthrough. not everything in the game needs to be ccr for it to be strong.
