Here is my review of the Sirui Jupiter Cine Macro lenses set including the new 75 and 100mm, and In this video l talk about my experience with them what I like and don’t like about them and finally whether or not I would recommend them.
I think this set will become my main one for both my 6K Pro and the new BMCC6K Full frame when it comes to modern glass.

Great video as always, I have the 35mm and it's such a great lens. The next one I believe I will get is the 75mm. This will be be a perfect combo I think for my doc/interview 2 angle type work. I have the G2 cameras but it's ok, I get the focal difference using them on S35. Thanks so much for a great showcase of the images these lenses produce.

Now with the Jupiter lenses on Indigogo, they are having a very good offer for the whole set; but I also received a very good offer on a MEIKE S35 set of 5 lenses; even way cheaper. When using a S35 camera, not regarding the prices, would you prefer a set of MEIKE S35 lenses or a set oF SIRUI Jupiters? 🙂

I own the 35 and 50mm from this set and absolutely LOVE them. They are my favorite budget cine lenses, and the macro capabilities added to an already great image really elevate these lenses above their price point. I had no idea that Sirui just added two more to the set! Amazing! Hopefully they will give us a wider option than 24mm to really complete the set.

Such great and versatile lenses for sure!! Personally on FF 24mm is plenty wide for me but an 18mm would be great for S35 :)

Thanks for watching!! I have only used the Retro prime when it comes to DZO and I really like them. Both lenses are great but it depends what you are after. The Sirui are Macro which makes them slightly more versatile but on the 6K Pro the DZO are a great option so you might not need to upgrade.

Thanks so much!! It is hard to compare all those lenses and I really do like them all. The Meikes S35 are cheaper and great for the 6K and 6K Pro for example. The DZO are also amazing with a great image and character but only come in EF and PL and are pricier. And the Sirui are FF and Macro with many mount options so really depends on budget and your camera really. Can't really go wrong with any :)

First of all: Great review! Your video and also the last little short film definitely put the lenses on my list. Because I'm more of a intermediate filmmaker and my career just started I won't be able to afford the whole set. However I am very interested in buying a single one for my BMPCC 6K Pro. Am I correct that the image receives a 1.5x Crop using the lenses on a Super35 sensor? Which lens would you recommend for starting of with, if you could only choose a single one? I really liked the pictures in the video with the 24mm but I also read a few comments really liking the 35mm. Whats your opinion on this?

Thanks so much!! Yes, you will get a 1.5 or 1.6 'crop' depending on the resolution and format used. If I had to pick one on the Pro it would be the 24 or 35. I started with the 24 on the Pro and loved it, wider is always a bit safer and more versatile I think so I'd say 24 :)

Excellent video, as always! One question: when paired with the full frame sensor of the BMCC6K is it possible to get relatively steady shots shooting handheld with all of them? I’m guessing the 75mm and 100mm need some stabilisation in post?

Thanks a lot!! Handheld is fine with the 24, 35 and 50. Gets trickier with the 75 and 100. It is possible as with any lens but I preferred to use an Easy rig or tripod for the longer two. I did stabilised a few shots in post too.

I’m a big fan of Sirui! I love macro options on my CY zoom and others. Handy. Right there on shoot. I love the Nightwalker series but no go EF. So been looking at these Jupiter, also you must have the Meikes for comparison(not FF- 1/2 the price). C’est bien! Merci!

Did you have any trouble bringing your BRAW files into resolve from the new FF model? Mine arrived today but the braw files have no thumbnail on my mac and won't import to resolve 😅

I did have this during the first days since the camera hadn't been released yet, but all good now. You need to update both DVR and Blackmagic Player. Hope it'll work asap! Congrats on the new cam :)

Salut Flo, Great lense probably future proof PL mount EF probably too... Handheld GYRO stab or NLE FCP or Resolve onboard usual E Stabilisation in post? Theses lense would go probably on a Crane 3S...filters? The Nici swift wont go on it because they are max 82mm ou je me trompe? Would u recommend getting the sigma 18- 35mm lens with the L Mount Adapter for the BMCC6k? I want the Lens for my other camera aswell, and i would like to start with that lens to later upgrade to a native full frame lens. Best

The sigma 18-35 is not a full frame lens unfortunately so it will not cover the sensor. I would suggest the Sigma 24-70 2.8 instead :)

Both are great lenses and at a great price! For the Pro the Meike S35 are very well suited and cheaper. Depends if you need full frame glass and macro. Can’t go wrong with either honestly.
