I wanted a concertina- but it had to be a concertina on a budget! I bought the own-brand concertina from Gear4Music. It wanted to be introduced to you :) Find me on Instagram: @claythorpemusic

Very informative for someone researching this instrument. I love the sound, and I believe a concertina might be a nice addition to the hurdy gurdy I am learning. I look forward to watching more of your videos on the subject. Thank you for this!🙂

My grandmother had one of these. Was too much for me as a child. I inherited a tin whistle in G in the end!

Bonetti is a great cheap Concertina. Unfortunately, their Anglo C/G is not tuned the standard way, but it is still fun to play. Thank you for this video! I will check out G4M!

I have had a concertina for a couple of years, but never started to learn how to play it. But you have motivated me to start now. Thank you

I really enjoy this channel, if I'm not learning something new, I'm thinking about things I don't usually give time to. Great work and inspiration, thank you.

Ah good ol’ G4M. It sounds great and you’re picking it up really quickly. 😍 Do you have a tutor book you’re working from? Oh and love the intro and outro fun. 👏

Harmonicas work like the concertina and the bandoneon(concertina’s big brother) blow and draw give different notes from the same hole. Concertinas and Bandoneon are more expressive than the accordion.

I ended up with a Gear4Music bass flute from eBay and had a terrible time finding someone who was willing to service it. They make passable basic beginer instruments, but the moment something goes wrong with a part or something gets slightly bent (from the metal being cheap and too maleable... like flute keys), you'll really struggle to find someone who's willing to work on it... and if they are, they'll tell you they are willing to try, but don't expect a miracle! 😆I ended up reselling it on eBay and buying a Guo bass flute. It sounds good though to me, and you're clearly coping with this very unintuitive fingering system!

Very nice👍👏🏻👏🏻 Could you tell me please what method I can use for this instrument? I’m a beginner. Thanks so much

You were lucky. I bought an instrument at that price and had to return it as unplayable. My current instrument cost 500 quid, but, now having played other instruments, it seems you need to spend 2000 quid to get some thing reasonable. For a beginner, I would go for a decent quality 20 button to find out if you like it before committing pennies to a 30 button or more.

You ain't half a quick learner, bonny lass. Three days (ish), and you cracked "Oh Susanna"! Keep your recorders going, though. You seem to be a born multi-instrumentalist.

Just learned stumbled upon you channel and what a lovely personality you have! Very informative and charismatic 😊 Coming from a musical background with other instruments like the guitar and the ukulele, I have finally settled with the chromatic harmonica, and I love learning irish tunes on it! I fell in love with the sound and looks of the concertina as soon as I first saw it, as I am also prone to instruments more on the compact side 😅 Unfortunately, it is not available in any way, shape or form in South America 😢 But at least the harp has a sound that's very close to it 😊 Anyways, congratulations on the great content, just got subbed to the channel and started following on Instagram.
