Love this Kari! It was so helpful. I have opportunities to paint in the winter but pass them up because I don't want to be standing outside in the snow when it's 20 degrees or below. Not only that but as a beginner plein air painter, here are some workable solutions to packing my stuff!

Loved that, Kari! Have you tried water mixable oils? I’ve been using them for over a decade and they’re perfect for plein air! 🎨👩🏻🎨

@@LeslieStroz no I have not. I already used oils and pastels before I started watercolor and have added gouache recently to ease the plein air load, but get effects similar to oils. I will be traveling with art friends to Italy next month and taking watercolor and gouache.Thanks for checking out my channel, I LOVE yours!

Kari, what fantastic ideas! It appears you've thought of everything you'll ever need to create little masterpieces. I wish I lived closer so we could paint together more often. Take care and have a wonder New Year!

Thanks, Bob!!! I wish you did! Are you by chance planning on going to the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air event in Florida in March?

Well, thank you so much! I've painted with it once and completed 3 small paintings. I think I will paint outside more often with this. Let me know if you try something like this.

What an excellent set up! Now i'm eager to see your small plein air paintings. Do you have them posted anywhere?
@KariWaltz4 жыл бұрын
I need to do that! I posted a couple on my Facebook page, Art by Kari. I'll go back an post them again. Thanks for asking about them. I cleaned out the palettes and am waiting for nicer weather to go out again. I hope you try it.

@@KariWaltz I just Liked your FB art page. You have a new fan. I paint with knives and your knife painting video of the floral still life blew me away.

@@nagridgecreative, thank you! I don't paint with palette knives often, but I do find it quite fun. So glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for watching!

lol - "Artistic License" You should add a "Get Out Of Jail Free" card - they usually work, if it's not a serious crime.

That's a great idea,thanks 👍, I might use that soon. Appreciate you watching!

@@KariWaltz Hopefully won't be needed, but sometimes if you're painting Plein Air and a security guard comes up looking ticked that you've committed the offence of looking at someone's property, you can hand it to them - usually gets a smile from them and a gentle warning.

@@tzisorey, wow, I hope I don't need it. I usually am pretty careful where I set up or have permission first. I'm going to still use that idea if the situation warrants it. An artist I met at a plein air event told us she got a shotgun pointed at her...she left immediately! Luckily her husband was with her so they could gather things quickly. 😲

@@KariWaltz I do a lot of abandoned farmhouses and the like, and never had a problem. Run down industrial estates, completely fine. Try to do a nice ocean view near some fancy houses, though, even on a public beach... someone calls cops for looking suspicious. 🙄
