Hey Paul! I came to your channel to install the foraxx utility script after installing the new pix and found this awesome video! Cant weight to give your script a go and hopefully be able to stay in Pixinsight. Thanks for the video plug BTW. Really appreciate the work you do!

Thanks mate. Hope you like the script. It wouldn’t exist without your inspiration. It isn’t on par with PS at this point, but I have just learned how to apply masks within scripts so I’m hoping that’s where the more subtle magic can start happening.

@@PaulymanAstro I'm actually have a bit of trouble installing it. The link is cut off in the description, I'm sure there's a work around but i haven't figured it out yet.

@enteringintospace4685 I’ve just updated the description with a shortened bitly link. I hadn’t realised but apparently if your links are too long KZbin shortens them for you and that can get mucked up if you ever edit the description in the future. The bitly link will hopefully work. Don’t panic if you get a 403 error when you get to the page, just copy the web address from the address bar and add it to the repositories list in Pix.

Very cool! I am going to have fun playing around with this. If you are getting a preview going with LRGB in the background be sure to use a resampled down image to save a lot of time! We are all ready for new palettes and effects!

Thanks mate. It’s barebones at the moment. I’m sure I’ll get my head around previews. I might just try for a script that just has a functioning preview, set that up as a stand alone script file and then build from there. I’m honestly suprised it doesn’t already exist as a base to build from.

Thanks mate. Think I got a functioning (static) preview working today. Next step get it to update and show adjustments before applying them to the main image. Once that’s done I’ll update the repo.

When I try to access the repository on my Mac Sonoma 14.6.1 I get a message "403 - Forbidden - Access to this Page is Forbidden" . I had a similar problem with the Fornaxx script. Sadly, locked out of enjoying these scripts!

The 403 message occurs when you try to directly access the page using a browser as there isn’t actually a webpage to visit. However copying the address into the list of repositories in PixInsight will allow PixInsight to access the appropriate files it needs to download. But I am in the process of adding an extra section to my website where you can directly download the scripts.

Hey, i added the repository link in the pixinsight and on clicking on updates, i dont find any updates, how can i install this?

Unfortunately the PixInsight update process can be a massive pain. I flush the cache on my web server each day to try and ensure any updates are served out but otherwise it is just a case of waiting and hoping PixInsight notices there is an update.

Just tried the 1.0 version. I select the Image inside the script. But getting this : *** Error: No such image: 0.5*~(~clone*~clone_glow)+~0.5*clone ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^ Ahh, my bad. Forgot to create a Blur Image :)

I’m glad it is getting through the update system to people. Next step, now that my head got through (somewhat) how to create previews, is to catch bugs like that and write meaningful console error messages to go with them.

@@PaulymanAstro Hi Paul. V. 1.0 did have a preview. But not dynamic if it's that what you meen. Is polyman pallet out for test ;) Great work I have just made an image. Bouble nebula with the glow script. Best image I ever have done.!

I’m still playing around with that one as pixelmath at the moment. Sometimes it works brilliantly as just a simple switch out to the Foraxx expressions and sometimes it works better with some alternative dynamic expressions. Once I’ve zeroed in on a good best general case I will basically copy my Foraxx Palette Utility but for these expressions and make it available.

Looks like a great addition for PI scripts, i really appreciate all your tutorials and work for the astro community!! Just like someone else here, I also get this error 404 since the script link is missing something, it reads Ort... and then stops, so it seems it is truncated. I tried to edit it to Orton but that does not do the trick. Can you supply us with the complete address of the script?

Hi mate, sorry I missed this comment. I have updated the description of my latest video with the repository link and also added a blog post to my website paulymanastro.photography . Not sure if links work well within KZbin comments to post it here but I can try that as well. paulymanastro.photography/OrtonGlow/ Remember that link won’t open anything directly it’ll give an error if you try. You paste that address into the manage repositories section of PixInsight.

Your Repo gave a 404 error

Typical PixInsight. Works perfectly on my various computers but clearly not in general. Accessing the link directly won’t work there is no webpage there. But for each of my computers adding the repo to Pix works perfectly. I hate their update system.
