I live right by there in Weirton and have done a lot of business with them. The owners dad, Kurt was the man. I played this beat up Mexican strat and fell in love with it. He had a tag for $150 on it and I brought a more expensive Ibamez RG in that I just hated and asked if he'd just trade and call it even. He told me to take it home and keep the RG and pay him when I could. It took me a couple of months, but I still love that guitar and that guy was one of the kindest souls you'd ever meet. His boy you talked with, whose name always escapes me though I've met him a hundred times, is a TREMENDOUSLY talented guitarist. I unfortunately have lost some guitars I didn't want to part with , but they always tried to help and be as flexible as you can expect a business to be. I always send people there. It's cool you were in my whole in the wall town. \mm/

From Leo: Pawn shops can be pretty handy. I motorcycled a couple states over to camp and fish with some friends. The others who came in a car brought guitars, so I rode to a pawn shop in town and found a playable acoustic for $100. We had some fun playing. When it was time to leave, I took the guitar back to the shop and the guy offered me $25, we laughed a little and he still only gave me $50, but the fun was worth it.

You missed out on not getting the Fender Excelsior. It’s labeled as a “pawn shop” amp and it’s incredible.

I worked in pawn shops. I really enjoyed haggling, but not when someone starts out with such a low ball offer. Lol! I don't know if that guy was too happy with that.

Next time you are in the area let me know. There are a couple honey holes called “cashland”. I got an epiphone dot there for 75 bucks! Sold it for 250!

Hey dude if you stop by nj and happen to pass through Tom’s river, it’s by the shore. There’s a pretty sick shop called “secret guitars” it’s got a bunch of really cool “off the beaten path brands” just a tip on a cool shop also about half hour from there is Russo music which is all high end stuff in Asbury park

I have one pawn shop I buy from Pawn America. I bought a neglected Epiphone Les Paul special 99.00 and a mint PRS Custom 24 SE 600.
