I live right by there in Weirton and have done a lot of business with them. The owners dad, Kurt was the man. I played this beat up Mexican strat and fell in love with it. He had a tag for $150 on it and I brought a more expensive Ibamez RG in that I just hated and asked if he'd just trade and call it even. He told me to take it home and keep the RG and pay him when I could. It took me a couple of months, but I still love that guitar and that guy was one of the kindest souls you'd ever meet. His boy you talked with, whose name always escapes me though I've met him a hundred times, is a TREMENDOUSLY talented guitarist. I unfortunately have lost some guitars I didn't want to part with , but they always tried to help and be as flexible as you can expect a business to be. I always send people there. It's cool you were in my whole in the wall town. \mm/

You really should've picked up that signed strat. The "Montgomery" thing on the tag said it was signed by Montgomery Gentry, a country duo with John Montgomery and Troy Gentry. They were very popular in the 2000's, and Troy has unfortunately passed away. If you're wondering how I know all this, I used to love their music, I can still vibe with them tbh

From Leo: Pawn shops can be pretty handy. I motorcycled a couple states over to camp and fish with some friends. The others who came in a car brought guitars, so I rode to a pawn shop in town and found a playable acoustic for $100. We had some fun playing. When it was time to leave, I took the guitar back to the shop and the guy offered me $25, we laughed a little and he still only gave me $50, but the fun was worth it.

My first rig was a Yamaha electric and an epiphone studio bass 10s, all used for 100ish. I got an Squier telecaster for Christmas and I'm getting a new amp next week 😁

TRIVIA: The signature on the guitar was from the chart-topping country music duo of Montgomery Gentry. Troy Gentry was killed in a helicopter crash in September 2017 at the age of 50. The crash happened near Medford, N.J. also killing the helicopter pilot. The crash happened just hours before Troy and Eddie Montgomery were to play a show in Medford, N.J. They were inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2009. Looking forward to seeing the guitar rig shootout. It should be quite interesting.

Just ordered a new guitar today and im frikkin exited, i went with a Fender Player Stratocaster in Polar White, unfortunately i can't just go and buy it in a store since im left handed and the options here in Sweden are very slim for us lefties. I have to settle with my VGS Eruption guitar for now 😎

I've got 12 guitars and the one I play the most is an old harmony 44 with a neck thru body, like Ritchie valens started with..it was on its way to burn pile when I saved it..had warped neck that I straighten with steam and clamps and lots of patience,no hardware at all and I had to glue Bottom body wing back on ...I now got a second one I'm going to put back like original I got pick up and tuners that are original but no pots or wiring...but I can get that...neck through guitars rule!

Dude, that cracked sunburst guitar? It's a Greg Bennett Avion (Samick factory) ... those are awesome guitars! I have 3 Greg Bennett electrics and they are my favorites of my modest collection. Unfortunately they stopped making electrics and just make acoustics now ... probably shut out of the market by Guitar Center and the 800-pound gorilla of Gibson/Fender who don't want competitors to their Epiphone/Squire budget lines ... only mom & pop shops were able to carry them. I bet just the cap was cracked on it.
