Love the series! I got my dog from a shelter when she was 5 months. She's been a lovely perfect girl, except when she turned 7 months. For about a month she was a proper adolescent! Testing boundaries, ignoring commands. She's my first dog so I had no idea that puppies have an adolescent phase! I'd love to see Inertia's teenage phase.

It's so nice to see this and that she is being a puppy on camera rather than an "angel" dog who "never" messes up. My rough collie puppy (12 weeks 3 days old) figured out on her on accorded how to stay cool when it's hot. When she wants to nap she is always on top of an air vent.

I watched this with my Chihuahua Dempsey who will be 1 in 3 weeks time. He obeyed everything you said and paid very special attention to the clicker. 😂 I live next to a loch with lots of wild birds including swans and ducks and other birds who are always there. I clicked treated him when he went to bark at the birds and now he watches them but is really quiet. He is still reactive with most other dogs but I guess that's a lifetime's work with Chihuahuas. We saw another Chihuahua on the other side of the park and he nearly turned himself inside out with joy and couldn't wait to play. We are so lucky to have our pooch pals. 💖 from me and Dempsey in Scotland. 🙋

I have been watching your videos a lot lately, because I am getting ready for getting a big dog, which I have never had before and I know they need to be properly trained (I want to get a Bullmastiff) I love your approach to dog training! I grew up around dogs, but they were never really trained and punishment was a big part of how they were corrected. I later had a Westie and although he was the funniest little goofball, I also made some mistakes in my training, which if I had done better, could have made him have a better life than he did, as he ended up being very reserved (he seemed very happy though, but we all want the best for our little furry companions, don't we?). I will absolutely make sure to get your book and do my best to train my future dog in a positive way, so he becomes as friendly and open as possible, so he can have the best life a dog could ask for!

Our new pup comes home in about a month. I have already learned a bunch of new things I hadn't thought of before. Can't wait to make my way through more. I will say that loud noise conditioning is something I was able to do with our pup about 12 years ago. I played with her during thunderstorms. Anytime she hears thunder, she goes for her ball or other toy to play fetch with whomever will toss the toy.

My 9 weeks puppy (border collie X austrian pincher) is such a dominant dog.. He is dominating everydog he meets, in a playfull maner though, even adult dogs let him be the boss. Then he guards them. The size and kind of dog doesnt matter at all. With my puppy this puppy class would have ended with every other dog grouped up in the middle and my puppy guarding them, this guarding instinct is so strong in him... its just like every dog is a sheep for him..

I just realized my childhood dogs had no issue with fireworks because there was always lots of meat grilling at the same time. I never made the connection until now. We lived on a farm and always had huge parties where we would shoot off all kinds of stuff, and the dogs never seemed scared at all. They bounced around and shadowed anyone with a hotdog that might drop at any minute. Lol

Also, Socialization does not always mean playing with every other dog you meet. My pup did a lot of observing of other dogs, and when I began to allow him to actually play and meet other dogs, he wasn't overly nervous or overly excited bc he'd seen so many dog interactions before.
