Such a cutie! Please be careful with the car seatbelt though. Only ever attach it to her harness, not her collar. If you stop quickly or get in an accident a harness will help keep her safe, but if you attach it to her collar in those situations it could snap her neck.

We named her Scarlet, and she is now two. We are getting a long hair chocolate/cream male mini Dauchund on November 4. We are naming him, Shepherd. I’ve had Minne for 8 years. She’s pretty much my woman at this point lol 😂 I got her at like 3 weeks (mom wouldn’t let her latch) and feed her with a bottle until she could eat. Now she eats everything and is supper attached. There is no going to another part of the house without her.

I highly recommend getting stuffing free toys as she gets older! Since dachshunds were bred to be hunting dogs, they tend to be destructive with their toys. She’s so beautiful 💜💜 congratulations!

If your doxie doesn’t go on the couch or you know its not jumping off the couch then no it’s not necessary, but I found it really challenging to stop Stella from jumping on the couch hahah she is just too fast! So depends on your situation!

Dachshunds are great dogs but they bark all the time! My 2 are super friendly but they bark really loud every time a door opens. Everytime I come home they bark so loud with excitement that it hurts my ears. I got mine when they were 10 weeks old. I only planned on getting one but there where only 2 puppies left and I felt so bad for the one I didn’t pick. It started crying so I got both of them. I’m so glad I decided to get both of em.

You could honestly just get a wood board (void of splinters) if you must. And if it’s a steep incline then I suggest either carrying your dachshund or adding some traction/non slip pads to the wood board, I hope this helps and good luck with your new doggo!!
