Thanks, dude. I needed this. I started growing my hair out 44 months ago (at the time I was looking for a new "project" since I had decided to stop coloring it green after 2 years) and your content was my main inspiration and information resource. I'm cutting it all off today and even though it was 100% my choice, I'm still a little anxious about it. I love my hair and loved growing it out and anyone seeing your video or this comment shouldn't stop if they want to keep going. My decision was made a few days ago and now that I'm only a few hours away my feet are getting a little cold. But seeing an unexpected update from you on my KZbin front page with hair shorter than what mine is about to be has given me strength and reassurance at the perfect time. Thank you, Thomas, for taking me (and so many others) with you on your journey so that I didn't have to do it alone. You look great.

Had long hair for the longest time too but recently got a cut and went back to my short spikey hair haha! Having long hair was cool, made me feel better about myself and just overall gave me so much identity in my circle. It was a difficult choice to make but ultimately, I realized that I only liked how it looked and felt when it was tied up or in a man ban. I absolutely hated it when it was just untied and free-flowing. Thanks to a cowlick in a weird spot, my hair doesn't have nice "direction" like other people. It was extremely irritating when my hair would get in my face every time I had to bend down. My long hair would just look horrible and out of place, not having any direction, style and not complimenting my face whatsoever. I wanted it to look good untied but it just never was without any styling products or blow-drying which I didn't always have time for. Now my head is lighter, my face is no longer irritated and I just fit with so much more styles now. I no longer spend an eternity washing and drying my hair, and cleaning all the strands that fall around the house. I haven't looked back since and just happy knowing that I was able to experience growing my hair out. It was a good experience but it's become more of an inconvenience for me in the long run.

I'm still growing mine out since June 2020. I have thick, curly hair so it grows really slow, but I'm sticking with it. It's been a little over 2 years and it's finally getting close to my shoulders and I can finally tie it up in a bun. I love how it looks on me. I never felt comfortable with short hair but now with long hair I can do so much more with it. If I want to let it down I let it down and if I want it up and can tie it up. This channel helped me through so much of the awkward phase and I learned how to care for and style it. I don't think I'll ever have short hair again unless I go bald.

Could you let us know how you get your hair to get flat like that? I have hair like yours, but even when it's short it grows up and out at the length you have. Also, why is it so expensive to maintain at your current length? What products are you using to style? With our hair type, I've found that it's hard to manage whether short or long. So more hair tips on any length are welcome, especially as your short hair here looks incredible! Show us how to do the same!

I don’t think I could even cut mine mine that short again. If I did, I agree I would never grow it out again (well maybe, idk). I started 2015 when I got sick and was in hospital and transitional physical therapy after. I just stopped cutting it, the top didn’t bother me at all, the sides were horrid, because my hair is so thick. I did an under cut for years and years, and it grew very long when I was sick and surgeries in 2018/2019, I actually had an appointment to shave the undercut the week we closed down for Covid pandemic. I used this as a chance tk just grow the sides out, it was hard for like 6 months, couldn’t put it all up and just itchy, then it all grew and I cut it myself, I had bleached on ends from prior color, so I cit all color out and it looked great and was all even, texturized it, cut into it, and 2 years later when I went for a cut, my stylist said my hair was so healthy (I wasn’t using heat, air dried and no flat iron, because I wasn’t going anywhere.) she was surprised when I said I cut 6/8 inches off and I was expecting her to say I needed at least that much more off and she said you really only need 1/2 inch. I went with 2/3 inches, layered a little, very subtle, then she talked me into Brazilian blowout, best decision ever, it literally changed my already straight hair, but VERY, Very frizzy, especially if I blew dry it, and it became exactly how I always wanted then I decided to color, I wasn’t icy platinum blonde (on my super dark hair, and she achieved it with 125/150 foils, it was ombré Skype done balayage style where it just melted all together. I let it grow to 25+ inches maybe more, then decided for warmer weather I wanted another blowout and cut 6 inches and did more long layers and a nice masculine ish face frame. I was nervous how the color would turn out, but the ombré part was 1/2 cut off, but layering it actually make the icy platinum MUCH more visible, I love the evolution of hair. I like to see how it changes without doing much. Once a year I do Brazilian blowout, 2 times a year a trim (I’m going to try for 4 this year), and maybe a color in summer agsin but lighter this time, but a lot less. Next month I’m doing a silver/ashy toner myself!! (Since it’s temporary I’m not nervous, and I don’t really like the all over sane color, I like all the different shades), sorry for long comment, just sharing my hair experience with someone I think really appreciates hair and people who try new things. I did all of this because I loved it. I have many people including family members that hate it, but I’m the only opinion that matters!!
