My non-member mom knew I needed the LDS Church! | with Levi

Levi shares his story of growing up with lots of exposure to religion. He realized in high school that based on his life trajectory, he wouldn’t make it past 21 years of age. He decided it was time to look into religion because he became concerned about the afterlife.
One night, Levi asked God to send religion to him. The next morning he heard a knock on the door. He began talking with the Jehovah Witnesses for 6 months but became frustrated. Due to some unfortunate experiences, Levi decided to quit his search of religion. His mom, however, had different plans. Watch the video to hear how Levi’s life dramatically changed!

Loved this! Thats very similar to my story. I grew up in Queens in the 90s too and came home to two white guys speaking gringo Spanish to my mom and brother. No clue what these guys were up to. I also thought they were law enforcement. Little did I know my mom was praying for guidance to raise my brother and I when they knocked on the door 10 min after the prayer. We were baptized 3 weeks later. May 1994. I also remember being blown away by the doctrine in the same way. Also saw the same commercials and played ball at church on that carpet floor court. Man! Loved this interview.

Levi, What a great story. I served in the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission also most 1977 thru 78, I'm an old guy compared to you, what a great place to be and give to others thru your service. Wow! I was also captivated. Had the best happy laugh hearing about the baptism attire when Jesus went into the Jordan River, and was so glad you followed His example! As a mom who buried two children, I just feel for you and your family with the part about your brother. Have you come to forgive those who caused it? Wonder if it will be addressed in the film. I love Levi. What a good guy and what a challenge to lose a close and beloved brother, but Joseph Smith knows exactly what it feels like. The knowledge of the gospel and our Savior Jesus Christ truly does save us from the pains of this world. It's doesn't keep us from it, but it certainly saves us.

I’m so sorry about your brother 💔 that’s so hard! 😭 My husband has only one brother that he’s gone through some similar experiences with as well so I know he would be CRUSHED and struggle too. I’m so grateful you’re still here and you have the testimony you do. It means so much! In my opinion, I feel like you still being in this church is honoring him because you went on this faith journey together. I’m glad we are taught about eternal perspective. That being said, though, I know that doesn’t take away grief and missing him ❤️

May I suggest 4 more ideas to improve groove: ⚪️ Use correct name of the Church ⚪️ Use Lav mics ⚪️ Use three-point lighting ⚪️ Read comments posted by viewers, and respond. It is courtesy to them and sometimes helpful. Viewer feedback is a resource. Hide hater comments (better than blocking because you still get credit for ‘hidden’ comments in KZbin’s analytics). Don’t allow anti-LDS rot to live in Comments sections; cleanse it by hiding it - housecleaning is needful, darn it.
