Peace Lillies like warm humid environments keep it in a large saucer with some pebbles or small rocks and water to make the humidity. Don’t keep it anywhere near a heat vent. Also salt can cause brown leaves, maybe use distilled water. Hope that helps.

A lot of people commenting on the price and of course it is high, but I agree with dr. Cellini. They stayed here for a year, not for a lifetime, so on the long-term it probably didn’t significantly damage their financial goals. They will be moving to a different place as they mentioned. That view is worth the money alone. When moving to a new place you don’t have to have a view of the Hudson river to lift your day, even a small view can give you a boost. I am saying this as someone who has felt the change. Live the life, go for the win, well played Cellini.

I love huge windows and lots of them so that's the one thing I could pick to like the best from that place. Also, I might have laughed when you said the storage was so limited because I've watched so many videos of small Japanese apartment tours and you don't know tiny until you see those. Your apartment is definitely big enough for not being a permanent place to live. I don't think there's too much of a need to point out how ridiculous I find the price because as you said, yes in other places a mortgage for a pretty big house with land would even be cheaper than your rent. I think NYC is one of those places you have to really love to live in the city and either be willing to make financial sacrifices just to pay the rent or make a comfortable amount of money to afford it. It's definitely not for me. I do love large cities, I'm in L.A. after all, but I don't want to live in the downtown area. Hopefully we'll get a tour of the new place, although it's completely understandable if you decide to hold off again for privacy reasons. But I'm looking forward to seeing how you set up the new and bigger place. I like the design and decoration styles you guys went with for this place.

In the future they're not going to put up with inflated big city housing costs or long commutes.

Having alcohol out in the open is actually a good sign. Alcoholics will hide their alcohol to avoid constant temptations to drink them, also due to guilt and worry that people will figure out they have a problem if they leave all their bottles out. I’d hide every single bottle I owned back when I had a drinking problem. Fast forward several years & I can sip slowly on just ONE glass of wine, and leave the bottle out without worrying about “accidentally” drinking it all, or people seeing it. No shame now that I’ve recovered and developed some self-control!
