MCAT is just an entrance exam. Performance as a doctor is key. No patient asks about the exam score, they just want you to treat them right. For him, it means going above and beyond.

@@shivanishastri4285 Saying the MCAT is just an entrance exam is really misrepresented the gravity the test has on your life. It isn't just an entrance exam. Its a literal 8 hour test that determines whether or not your dreams come true. It's 10 times harder than an standardized test i've ever taken and you're competing against some of the most intelligent people the country has to offer. Yeah... just an entrance exam. Performance as a doctor means nothing if you never got into med school. When a school has 2400 applicants and 70 seats. Go ahead and apply with your 505 score. See how that goes.

@@kyoukan91 I have already scored well and gotten in. Truth is, I care about my clinical performance more. I feel like book learning and clinical learning are different. Med school is a struggle. Also my previous comment is something that an actual doctor said. Yes, I have had the torture of having to reapply even with a stellar MCAT. I have had to use a whole lot of my smarts to get into med school. I definitely deserve to be here.

I don’t believe in coincidences and today I found out about radiology as a career, by trying to match to my personality type. Which is intj. And it’s eerie how similar we are in how we act and do things. It’s even more crazy how similar your wife and my wife are in personality. I needed a true challenge as a career, and want to do the work to get to my goals of having a family and great home life. Radiology seems to be the challenge I need day in and day out. Pressure to get it right and not mess up diagnosis and reading scans and mri’s everyday sounds like a challenge that I need. Love the channel.

Question. All of the pharmacy is running out of asthma medicine. Insurance requires my friend to purchase 3 instead 1. My friend is short of her inhaler . They gave her advair which she doesn’t use anymore. She told them if she runs out , she will go to the emergency room?

Pharmacy tech here, I'm guessing that the prescribed medication for your friend is probably Albuterol, it has been on back order due to the nature of this current pandemic and human nature (people hear respiratory virus and try to stock up on their meds). I'd advise your friend to discuss her current predicament with her family practice physician and see if there are any alternative medications or treatments. Alternatively she could try and see if there are any other pharmacies nearby that do have enough in-stock, in that case she can request said pharmacy to have her prescription transferred over and they can dispense it for her.

How did you get the letters of recommendation from Doctors before going to med school, or does that truly matter in order to be accepted into med school? Studying for my MCAT. My grades are good enough, not straight A's I have a few B's. I just was trying to get a feel for my road ahead. I'm an Experienced Radiologic Technologist but I won't have to become a Radiologist. I also Love a few variety of Specialties.

You're a good guy - humble, it's different than it was 40 years ago, UCI med school Class of 68. LOL! My dad is an MD and I've been there when people make assumptions like you are reading through. Although some of the arrogant pricks that were around were intolerable - but the days of screaming at the top of your lungs going crazy on a nurse or CNA and using amphetamines to study are over except for those old bastards that are still alive and actually did it. The drug reps would hand out meth amphetamine like candy and amphetamines like dexedrine like water and get away with it. The "GOLDEN age of medicine" as my dad calls it. As a single dad, got no child support, no social services, grown up poor. A 6th grade education. 2 alcoholic, cheating ex's, (I don't really drink). I've never spanked any of my 4 sons... ever. They are all very successful. And outstanding men. I enlisted and served 3 enlistments in the military. A medic also an EMT. And after some hard work an ER and ICU Nurse. 30; years in healthcare. There is a Forbes article about me. I am a disabled veteran and Nurse. I got my life ruined for standing up for my patients. Set up for termination... twice. Busted them....twice See Forbes article....lol. My coworker friend, rad Doctor Karen Burg just got elected senator in Kentucky. I am currently a near homeless, penniless disabled veteran. I was on my 5th suicide attempt. Instead of letting the VA destroy me....I decided to bitch slaps the crap outta them. I have nothing...but respect that I have earned. Possessions mean little to me.
