Thank you Gerald! I suffered when I started KZbin a few years ago and STILL have to fight myself trying to make videos. despite all jokes about the old videos, there is a lot of really valuable information here. After all these years of experience in YT consider doing more videos like these... talking about "how to KZbin" (create more pleasant camera shots/B-Roll, tricks to retain an audience, your steps to record a video, gain camera confidence, and others) I know your channel is more "gear's related", but in some of your and also Josh's videos, you guys provided more insights to people who want to become KZbinrs than real channels that only create that kind of content, so consider approaching these subjects as well bro.

I haven't watched all of your videos, but I've definitely watched a few of them 3-4 times. I think that time period of "energy" that is so rampant in KZbin content is thanks to another Canadian KZbinr who it seems everyone copied from set design and lighting, to travelling to Iceland! to the catch phrase, "What! Is! HAPPENING!!!!!". Thankfully, that trend is dying down, as more and more people are finding their own style. I appreciate what you've accomplished and I loved the studio tours as I also followed all of those people, so it was a fun series of cross-over episodes. Keep at it! You're great!

I jumped on the Undone boat when I watched one of the recent (within the last year) camera reviews. I don't care about cameras not even in the slightest, but it was something about the way the video was produced and the extent of the details in the review was almost calming. Since then it's been great watching Gerald's videos. They are quite informational for the most part (bananus included) but they are entertaining too.

Great one Gerald! You crack me up 😂😂 I've often wondered if I should delete some of my old videos. Tutorials where it's just a screen recording and the onboard mic of the laptop. Horrendous quality. Or even worse, when I started introducing my own face into the tutorials as I ran through them. 🙈 But as you said viewers mostly don't follow your story. Just because I don't like how the old videos fail to represent how I want the channel to be perceived now, doesn't mean they're not still of value to some people.

Haha. Love the memes! I’ve been on your channel for I think 3-4 years now. And never bothered to watch your super old content. I came in due to needing to learn more about log profiles, specifically s-log2, and working with 8-bit footage. One of the first videos of yours I remember watching was a comparison of all the Sony profiles, showing all the data, matching them, etc. Amazing how much you’ve evolved in such a short time. Most never make it out of the awkward phase. But you figured out what you love to make, made your content unique in that space, and became successful. What a ride! There’s a lot of simple stuff I can learn from you even though our content will be totally dissimilar. 1) Think about what you want to make. 2) Challenge yourself. 3) Use a script. 4) watch your edits (and although you didn’t say this: reshoot something if it’s awkward).

As my learning curve improved I'd learn new gems of wisdom. BTW, you have a long way to go. I've had my channel for 16 years now. That spot removal video was the one that brought me to the channel. I wanted to remove the same stuff from my laptop monitor. I ended up selling it. Jump cuts were also fine. Everyone was using them.
