my one of a kind collection

this is my first time trying a narrative film style... hope you enjoy!:)
ive always had a love and hate relationship with my wardrobe.
i still don't know what my aesthetic is, and I can't say I don't spend 15 minutes every morning to pick out the right outfit. but I can proudly say these are my favorite items in my closet right now.

I'm soooo glad that this landed on my for you page. As someone who grew up near and dear to my grand mother she would sew me beautiful Indian wear for my birthdays and embrioder each piece with such detail. She would also sew me frocks which I still wear. She still stores those pieces from childhood and I don't know how to show it to her but I REALLY LOVE HER for doing that. ❤

so sweet and heartwarming for your mom to make clothing for you and i'm so glad she still does! my mom used to make clothes for my sisters when they were young and these days i ask her for help making adjustments to my existing clothes when she can. she likes to sew but we don't have a place in our home for her to set up a work space and she also works full-time. considering her interest and skill i hope that one day, if it is so, that i can help my mom have a space to create at her leisure. what a wonderful thing to share, i can tell that each piece, even in the presentation and packaging, is filled with your mom's love and passion. so amazing :)

my mom also have sewing hobby, and she make tons of craftworks for our home. she has her own unique style so all her quilt projects aren’t viewed as “pretty” in other people perspective, but i love her works so much. thank you so much for making this video, sharing this lovely story with us

I love that you shared this! My mom had stopped sewing/knitting as much by the time I was born, but she helped me learn (it’s now part of my career!) and passed on several of her handmade pieces from high school and university. I hope one day that I’ll have kids of my own to make clothes for and watch them develop their own styles and identities

Why has this video got me crying?! I am a beginner with sewing and have been making simple alterations for my friends and family. I've made a few pieces from scratch but nothing complicated. This inspires me to improve my skills and make more projects. Her pieces fit beautifully on you and you can tell how much love and care went into each item. When I was 5 or 6, I needed a fairy costume for my class play, but we didn’t have the time to shop for one. So my grandma found a bunch of lance, ribbons and butterfly decals to sew on one of my favourite purple dresses, 14 years later I still have it in my closet :)

This made me smile so much. My mom sometimes sews or alters my clothes, she has been doing that since i can remember. I'm 17 now and want to try sewing myself. She agreed to teach me and we will start soon. Since i was little i loved designing fashion in these little scetchbooks with models you could buy at corner shops so i am excited to make clothes from my imagination. You've inspired me to explore the concept of return to childhood favorites when it comes to style. It seems somehow certain elements of what we loved as a kid resurface when we're adults and find ways to implement themselves into our style - I used to love ballet skirts and pretty dresses as a toddler, and I still do.
