I kept a smallmouth bass for a short period of time. He by far had the best personality of any fish I ever kept. I never knew bass changed colors as much as they do until I kept one. He would get so excited when any of us walked into his room. He was very similar to an Oscar in so many ways. I would love to see you do a native tank from your area. Keep up the great work and can’t wait to see your next HUGE project.

When you mentioned them laying down all I could think about was my clown loaches. Gave me several scares at first but now it's just loaches being loaches.

I used to have a clown loach in with my Oscar. No issues they left each other alone. Another cool fish. ✔️

Imagine creating an army of Oscars, then going out to rule each and every ocean. So much of power. Granted they’d all die from being in saltwater
@thekingofdiy3 жыл бұрын
Still... would be kinda cool. 😝

I mean they are brackish fish, so theoretically you could eventually acclimate them to complete saltwater so your dreams aren't far off.

Great video again!!! I love my Oscar, I have a 40 gallon cubicle, dark water tank, never needs water change, never goes above 5.0 ppm. Nitrate. I do water change for mineral replenish. I use almond leaves and driftwood and extracts. He's huge and healthy, gets grumpy and bites me when I clean filter sponge and tank.

I agree with you, Oscars are awesome! I love Oscars. But I keep mine with two Angel fish, a Plexo, and a Shark fish and they get along with each other fine. I have enjoyed my Oscar ever since I bought him, one of the best investment I ever made!! Keep up the videos, thanks for sharing the knowledge!!

Oscar toy: Supplies: ping pong ball, length of fishing line, casting plug(like a rubber sinker), aquarium silicone. tie fishing line to plug, then attach other end of fishing line to ping ball ball using the silicone. Length of fishing line depends on height of aquarium.....our Oscars had hours of fun with this toy.

I have a albino tiger Oscar in with a gold Severum in my 75g. Love that fish. The Severum eats more than the Oscar even though they are the same size and growing at about the same rate.
@xXBMWVXx3 жыл бұрын
My Albino Tiger Oscar gets along so well with my Fire Eel and Butterfly Pleco. I've even had feeder guppies in the tank from back when I got the Eel, which was a month before introducing the Oscar since I wanted the Eel to be comfortable and dominant in the tank first. The Oscar just doesn't eat the guppies and neither does the Eel. They are all so passive, and the Oscar even loves swimming along side the Eel when the Eel finally decides to exit his PVC tube. Honestly, couldn't ask for a better pairing of fish. I love it.

I had 2 oscars 20 years ago, after they died we kept al kind of different fish. But once you owned and loved Oscars there is no way back. We currently have six baby's in a big tank in our bedroom. When they are big enough we move them to our living room tank so they have plenty of space to grow out even more. Love to see them grow up. They are special, but you have to know what you are getting into haha. Luckely my husband is as crazy as i am when it comes to fish keeping🙈
