Actually it makes sense. idk about states but its doesn't matter if you are 18 years just mean's you are grown up and your parents are still parents in Some countries children take the expense of elderly by law. It mean provide house food and care or pay for the elderly house. If he didn't remove parental right he would have been required to pay for them where they couldn't and they can sue for financial support. Not all countries have pension system

That court case makes no sence. So can any parent sue for their childs earnings just beacause they raised them ? I dont think that case had any chance regardless of neglect.

They wouldn’t. The case would need to establish justification. They wouldn’t have any. This isn’t family court. So actual evidence is needed. A court would see this a mile out and throw it out. Also the whole they abused me bullcrap wouldn’t even be allowed in the case. This story is fake as all could be. The complainant would need to establish a monetary link.

I call BS on this story. In what country does this take place? Where in the world does a child legally owe parents for any success their adult child has gained. Even if I sent my child to college, fully paid, and they became successful, they would legally owe me nothing. This is an ad for therapists.

What the hell is happening in here. You are saying your parents asked for 100K around 2000s based on the multiple decades you have mentioned. You make an app before that But Android's first successful version was on 2008 and that is just first successful version the kind of apps you are mentioning I never heard around that time (Unless your apps were just text based content). But A Workout app with just text, and Mental help app (just text here as well), hard to believe they were successful. I want to believe you but i am very confuse after your story.

AI story. Some tells: mentioning reconnecting with Emily then nothing, then reconnecting later. Ending the story, then going on and on with irrelevant details that add nothing to the story. The parents turning a new leaf, just kidding. If you are going to start with AI ideas, that's fine, just don't leave it at that. Go through it, proofread and change things that don't make sense.

They can easily take it into higher learning or buy their own technology after saving some $$ from an interim job when they become adults and continue from there.
