I replaced my 2019 LRDM with the 2024 Performance earlier this week and can share my observations. With one exception, the assembly quality of the new car is substantially better than the old car. The new car feels a whole lot tighter than the old car ever did. I have noted 2 defects with the new car so far. The first is that there was hardly any washer fluid in the reservoir, and the second is that the under-windshield trim piece with the cool LED strip was not seated with its mating part, resulting in a 1/4" difference in height between the windshield piece and the door piece. Have tried to seat it properly by pushing it down, but no luck. Other than that, the new car just feels a lot tighter than the 2019 car ever did. Needless to say, the car really shouldn't have been delivered with these issues....but they are pretty minor. As compared to other new cars I've purchased in the last decade, this one is actually pretty good. Certainly better than my VW GTi and VW Jetta TDi, and about on par with my 2016 Prius. My earlier Subaru WRX had no obvious fit issues, but then the AC never really worked properly, and the Prius has experienced decomposing plastic trim pieces and a failed catalyst since I sold it to my sister. (at about 50k miles) By comparison, even my 2019 Model 3 has been substantially better than the Prius. While the 2024 Model 3 could have been a little better, in terms of panel gaps and such it's actually better than the 3 year old BMW M3 that I park next to at a friend's house. All in all, pretty much world class.

Over the past 20 years, I have got 2 Subaru, 4 BMW ( 3 and 4 series) and a Tesla M3 LR 2020. Last week I got a Tesla M3 LR 2024, this latter is way better than any of my previous cars. It feels a lot tighter, no panel gap that I can see, a lot quieter, exceptional sound quality, and a ton of new features that was not available in my M3 2020. For example, automated trunk, cool seat, heated steering, backseat screen, much better tires, and so on... it is true that we must get used to the signal buttons, I would also prefer to have the left one on the side of the steering wheel and the right one on the right side of it,it would be more intuitive. Also, the horizontal reflexion across the front window is a real problem.

Your video is very informative, but.....if you push on the silver trim piece of the steering wheel, you can't expect the right turn signal to activate. You literally pushed on the trim piece, several times. If I aim to depress the "1" button on my phone, and hit the "2" button instead, I am not shocked when the number "1" doesn't appear on my screen.
@mmark3004 ай бұрын
The point is that while we're driving, we can't expect to hit those buttons perfectly every time. I'm putting enough pressure on the button area so that, if it was designed well, the button should depress. As an example, I'm clicking my mouse button all over the place in a 1" x 1" area and it still works perfectly. Then look at 5:10 - I'm off the mark, but getting closer until I'm now hitting the arrow directly and it won't press in - the button jams up. This is really bad design for a signal button.

I've had my 2024 M3P for 4 weeks now. When you press the signal buttons do not try to stab at it with the tip of your thumb like you're doing in the video. That's the natural instinct but it doesn't work. Instead lie your entire thumb flat across the whole button area then push. You'll see it works much better than way. Took me a while to figure this out. Regarding your other issues I don't have any those in my car but do have other issues. I don't think Tesla's will ever be close to flawless like with my new Porsche and BMW cars. I just lowered my expectations and accept that they will come with issues.
